Counterpoint. I did an LDS mission to a place where they don’t have games. I learned it’s ok to live without games. True happiness and joy comes from not winning or losing.

You know who says that?

People who don’t win any games. You won’t catch a 3-year letterman and High School football legend saying nonsense like that.

C&E Reports have been filed with the Secretary of State. Judge Jessica Peterson has outraised her challenger by 5:1. If you’re following social media, she’s also outworking him on the rubber chicken dinner circuit. I think he thought he was going to sign up and become a judge because the RJ has been going after Judge Peterson.

For as poor as her evaluation was, there sure are a lot of firms backing her. You can see for yourself as she has nearly $400K on hand, but let’s go ahead and identify those contributing $10K each: Paul Padda Law; G. Dallas Horton & Associates; Kemp Jones; Hutchison Steffen; Michael Hua; Eglet Adams; Eglet & Eglet (YES these are two separate $10K donations); Dimopolous Injury Law; Heidari Law Group; Maier Gutierrez; and Bighorn Law; In the category of $5,000 contributions we have: Cogburn Davison, Pam Burkholz; Naqvi; Price Beckstrom; GGRM; H&P Law; Cottner firm; Battle Born, Clagget & Sykes; David Boehrer; Moss Berg; Christian Morris; Anthem Injury; Hicks & Brasier; Valiente Mott; Colby Williams; Carter Cullen; De Castroverde Law; Blackburn Wirth; The Powell Firm; Kang & Associates; GTG; Henness & Haight; Howard & Howard.

Notice any patterns? Wish there was an easy way to see which of those firm have received huge verdicts from her. I know Kemp Jones is one on the Real water cases.

(It’s also worth noting that if you view her list of contributions, you can click on the donor’s name and see who else they have contributed to.)

Sure they are mostly Plaintiff firms. But my firm donated to her because (1) she far better than Alexandra McLeod and (2) Kishner will keep notes and be punitive against those who stand against her.

Judge Kishner will win hands down with that amount of money, TV ads, a high priced consultant and support from old Vegas along with the NJA. It is not looking too good for her opponent. Besides that, Judge Kishner makes a better appearance. She is the incumbent and first on the ballot.

Kishner has Letizia. McLeod has Dave Thomas. I have heard rumors that McLeod has polling results showing her ahead but the brutal lack of advertising makes me doubt that information.

Why hasn’t Hooge filed his report yet? It was due yesterday. Is that a bar complaint issue?

Not only has he not filed his Q1 report, he hasn’t filed his 2026 annual financial disclosure nor his annual report for 2026 (assuming he started raising money in 2025).

Be interesting to see what she spends those donations on now that she’s hired one of Fiore’s campaign managers.

Maybe he thought he’d win because most of the attorneys who practiced in her courtroom will recommend to their friends and family that they vote for her opponent.

Not to mention her staff, courthouse employees, her previous clients, colleagues, and any party with a case pending in front of her. Let’s not pretend we don’t know why she drew an opponent.

I practice in front of her very, very regularly and I’m very outspoken in recommending her re-election. She is one of the hardest working, most prepared judges we have.

Posting this as a note that anyone can change their story: Asia Carrera, whose name may seem familiar for… reasons, has passed the Texas State Bar.

In case my wife reads this blog: Asia who? Never heard of her.

In other Texas legal news, Baby Jessica arrested for assault. How is it going? Not well.

Has anyone here practiced civil law in California? Specifically, LA or Orange County? If so what is it like compared to practicing in Las Vegas?

Hearings start at 8:30am.

There’s so many judges/courts that you don’t run into the same judges repeatedly (so you can’t build a rapport with them like here).

Judges out there LOVE to follow the rules pedanticly and will refuse to hear motions, etc., that aren’t done right. Out here it’s very much the wild west when it comes to rules and enforcement.
