There’s plenty to dislike about our elected officials but I’ll always admire those who put themselves through the indignities of campaigning so that they can try to make our city/county/state a better place to live (even if their vision for what that entails is different from mine).

Has anyone talked with the Nevada Supreme Court about how screwed up the EFile/Eflex system currently is?
I have gotten two email notices now in the same case of a court filed document ( a decision?) but when I go to the new portal to look, no new filings are there.

Chuck, thanks for jumping in. Get it’s a work in progress but that atrocious font is a one shot fix. Can we perhaps get Century Schoolbook or something nice to read? That font really is awful. Thanks.
And it appears that they are keeping the scanned copies of opinions instead of moving to clear, easy to read PDFs like the rest of the universe. Someday their IT director will retire and they will hire someone who is not afraid of technology. Or the justices could step in and fix this nonsense.
I understand the frustration. We use these documents too, and scanned PDFs are not ideal for anyone.
One of the goals of this transition is to move away from older workflows that still had paper-based components and toward documents that are easier to access, read, and use. That will not happen all at once, especially with older documents, but but implementing a modern system is an early step to resolve these issues.

For government agencies this change is coming under changes to the DOJ rules for the ADA. PDF’s need to meet a bunch of standards including having real text.

Can you post a link to the site where court opinions are now found? I have went to the site and after clicking on NSC opinions it gives me a 403 Forbidden. Did you test the site under all browsers? I am uning chrome though so it should be working
A native pdf is a real electronic file. A scanned pdf is just a series of photos. a scanned document cannot be searched for words etc.

What is the point of scanning a hard copy though? That is almost never necessary. Just print to PDF. Do it for the trees or sage grouse or something, man.

I have heard the arguments, but it appears to me that it is more about keeping money in certain pockets than it is about health care Not allowing for an alternate first-class trauma center in Las Vegas is dumb.

You luddites reading this? NO MORE NON-NATIVE PDFS. I would welcome an efiling rule or formal SCR banning non-native PDFS everywhere.
When I create a “native” pdf from my word processor, the size on the pdf document is MUCH larger than the size of the scanned document.
Call me a luddite? I even have a cell phone!

Can do. The old website combined advance opinions from both the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals. The new system has them separated.
