The system has been failing kids for decades. You wanna know why the family court cabal is so interested in keeping cases sealed? Just take a family court case and go see for yourself what goes on down there. Judge Child-Advocate-of-the-Year will hand a convicted sex offender unsupervised visitation with the man who raped the kid’s sibling. Video of the husband grabbing the wife and slamming her into the wall of their garage? Oh well…that’s just “situational” and he has overcome the presumption against domestic violence because he hasn’t beat her up since they separated. Judge screws your client and then you find out that you represented the ex-wife of the judge’s current lover and now you know why said judge has been screwing over all your clients. Family court has always and will continue to fail children and families until the public is able to see inside those courtrooms and hold those judges accountable.

OP here. Sorry for the rant. That story about that poor kid finding a bag of meth is just sad. Imagine being the kid that has to call the cops on your own mom because CPS and family court won’t do their jobs? It got to me today. I wish more people knew what was going on in family court BEFORE they ended up there. There needs to be transparency and accountability. There’s no excuse for hurting children the way they do.

Unfortunately, it would not surprise me at all if Dad planted the meth and got the kid to snitch on Mom.

I have actually seen worse things perpetrated.
I had a case once where the mom’s boyfriend harmed her daughter while mom was in the bed as well and the court still felt it wasn’t enough to terminate mom’s parental rights because it wasn’t mom that SA’ed the daughter, it was the boyfriend. Our client was dad and all he wanted was to get his baby girl out of that situation.
