That’ll be quite the depo prep line item: by attending this deposition, you risk serious bodily injury, up to and including death.

There was an attorney that asked opposing counsel to schedule court reporters because it turned out no court reporter agency would work with him because they felt he was unsafe. We are in a weird timeline.

Lisa- you represented Kelley Houston, the wife of Joe Houston. So Dennis had a foreseeable duty to warn you that he might be shot to death but Joe and Kelley didn’t? i respect you as a lawyer; however this lawsuit is aimed at the wrong person. Shame.

I agree. Why not at least include Joe Houston’s estate, since Joe clearly knew of the danger he posed and did not warn her.

The interesting thing is how this is likely to backfire on her client (no pun intended). She sues Prince Estate on theory of foreseeability that Joe Houston would cause murder which is going to cause the Estate to look to Kelly Houston and state that Kelly certainly should have seen this coming and opens up her client to liability. And I echo the comment above that I generally like Lisa and Maggie. Just a truly bad idea.

Going where she thinks the money is. Pretty reprehensible.

This is a huge waste of her time!! And completely legally misguided.

I am having a really hard time comprehending the logic here. If Dennis could have foreseen the danger, wouldn’t he have warned his wife and protected himself? Lisa is barking up the wrong tree here…

Not sure Hooge has the temperament for judgeship. The Bar has been pushing civility, but the vitriol coming out of the Office of Bar Counsel is unparalleled.

The story from his application for the seat is concerning on so many levels. Most attorneys (I would hope) wouldn’t need someone to be murdered before they consider evidence objectively.

“Looking back on things, I should’ve sensed something was amiss when he realized he had accidentally left his hat in my office. When he came back in to get it, he chuckled and said ‘oops, can’t forget my lucky stabbing hat!’”

I hope Pete retains the seat. He is a good person and will make a great judge.

With Department 13 and 26 I am voting for the person I don’t know (In this case Pete and a PD) because I know the other four. Weird when you know people well enough to know that a complete unknown would make a better judge.

What an odd comment. Maybe this was taken out of context? — “I made more money in law school than I have ever as an attorney,” he said during an interview.
