Today marks three years from those tragic events that affected all of us in Las Vegas. We hope that all of you affected by those events are finding healthy ways to cope. How are you feeling today?

Marc is real good. Although his client is a horrible person and her suit completely meritless, if anyone can carry this across the finish line, it's him. Henderson's finance team might want to set aside some money for the coming payment. And never hire that way again.
2:15 uses logic. His critics use catty language. That's why being Right is right, because it's based on man's reason. I'm more of a Ralph Lauren guy myself.
What do you mean “hire that way”? If it’s racist, I’d like you to say it with your chest before I lambast you. Or are you a coward?
2:15, of course you can fire an incompetent person. That’s not a revolutionary statement, congratulations on stating the obvious.

That is exactly NOT what I would want to do if I were in Vegas. 'Honey, I have tickets to see [new show] at Wynn tonight. When we go down for lunch, lets stop by the Covid-19 testing center and place some spittle into a tube so we can find out if we're infected. Then we can walk around the hotel, go on the strip, etc, and see if we can either spread our infection (if infected), or catch it, before going to the [new show]."
I think it's a good idea. Widely available rapid testing would do wonders for our ability to actually reopen (because we're headed right at another shutdown with the recent easing of restrictions).
I also think it's a good idea, however it still isn't what I would want to do if I was a tourist coming to Vegas. Not quite as bad as getting an AIDS test before and/or after going to a brothel, but same concept.

Received an email that if you currently have an open pro bono case through Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada you receive a “front of the line pass” (“FLP”) with all courts. Since when does Legal Aid Center — an established leftwing subdivision of the state Democratic party — get to negotiate such sweet deals? Does my work for my Church, my community, and my national association not count for the super special treatment?
As a Mormon male, I feel pretty confident that 3:16 is, unfortunately, also a Mormon male. So shameful. I really hope I'm wrong – because if you're triggered (deeply!?)/offended that attorneys volunteering their time for the poor get called before attorneys sitting there billing by the hour – well, you've failed at religion. Go repent. Courts call pro bono cases all the time – as they should. I've never heard a judge say "only pro bono cases from Legal Aid" though. In sum, fuck off and go take a real pro bono case and quit being a douchebag. So many of us make me look bad.
Can someone explain why the poor are so special? In modern society, if you are poor it's because there is something deeply wrong with you. It's not biblical times when good people could be poor through no fault of their own. Nowadays, if you are poor, it's because of the choices you made. In the case of kids, the choices made by mommy and daddy (though daddys are usually not in the picture), and, as we know from genetics, there's a 80% chance the kids will be losers as adults like mommy and daddy no matter how much is spent on them.
Not looking to offend. Just wondering. I represent landlords and the way they are treated in favor of deadbeats is depressing. Now, "pro bono" attorneys get special treatment for blocking the rights of the productive class for the benefit of the unproductive class.
Yes, you are being unreasonable. Your church is free to try and negotiate the same deal with the court. However, your church and the Court are not directly aligned with a central goal: to help indigent litigants. Both the court and the legal aid center are aligned with that goal. In furtherance of that shared goal, the legal aid center and the court have worked together to entice attorneys. That's why attorneys get a pass.
Nice people don't just get nice things for being nice. But feel free to ask your church to approach the court. Or take a pro bono case and stop crying about it.
"In modern society, if you are poor it's because there is something deeply wrong with you. It's not biblical times when good people could be poor through no fault of their own. Nowadays, if you are poor, it's because of the choices you made."
Irrelevant, even if it was true (it isn't).
Because you are LDS, I'm gonna leave this here:
17 Perhaps thou shalt say: The man has brought upon himself his misery; therefore I will stay my hand, and will not give unto him of my food, nor impart unto him of my substance that he may not suffer, for his punishments are just—
18 But I say unto you, O man, whosoever doeth this the same hath great cause to repent; and except he repenteth of that which he hath done he perisheth forever, and hath no interest in the kingdom of God.
19 For behold, are we not all beggars? Do we not all depend upon the same Being, even God, for all the substance which we have, for both food and raiment, and for gold, and for silver, and for all the riches which we have of every kind?
20 And behold, even at this time, ye have been calling on his name, and begging for a remission of your sins. And has he suffered that ye have begged in vain? Nay; he has poured out his Spirit upon you, and has caused that your hearts should be filled with joy, and has caused that your mouths should be stopped that ye could not find utterance, so exceedingly great was your joy.
21 And now, if God, who has created you, on whom you are dependent for your lives and for all that ye have and are, doth grant unto you whatsoever ye ask that is right, in faith, believing that ye shall receive, O then, how ye ought to impart of the substance that ye have one to another.
22 And if ye judge the man who putteth up his petition to you for your substance that he perish not, and condemn him, how much more just will be your condemnation for withholding your substance, which doth not belong to you but to God, to whom also your life belongeth; and yet ye put up no petition, nor repent of the thing which thou hast done.

Cook says it was because she's black.
City says it was because she was incompetent.
First question: Are being being black and being incompetent mutually exclusive?
Next question: If being black and being incompetent are not mutually exclusive, is it ever okay to fire an incompetent black person?

I agree with 12:53 – it's a good idea and it'll hopefully keep our community on the job and off unemployment
I also think it's a good idea, however it still isn't what I would want to do if I was a tourist coming to Vegas. Not quite as bad as getting an AIDS test before and/or after going to a brothel, but same concept.

I find this deeply offensive. Am I unreasonable?
Yes.
Preach, brother! When are white, conservative, Mormon men gonna get a fair shake in Las Vegas?
No
That's been in place forever, but take a case and you'll find out it's not true. Judges will call what they wanna call, when they wanna call it.

Yes. Unreasonable.

My Modar confirms that 3:16 PM / 9:11 PM is LDS.

Good sermon, but probably wasted on these hard hearted clowns.
7:05,
Ditto, from another Mormon male who has done CAP pro bono work.
3:16 can eat a bag of dicks.
9:11 can make it two.
I think Sisolak should donate the 50k in campaign funds from Padgett, and donate it to the PUA funds that are never going to be distributed.
