And a conviction for tax fraud next spring, and foreclosure on Trump Tower next summer with a nasty divorce in the fall. I definitely want this son of a bitch to survive.

Looking forward to coming back post election and watching the rage unfold as President Trump is reelected. Then we can get to prosecuting all the traitors involved in the attempted coup attempt, but if writing democratic fan fiction keeps you sane, then go for it! I will sleep well at night knowing that Future Justice ACB will be guarding the constitution from living constitutionalist.

You do realize that no serious person talks about an "attempted coup attempt" with respect to this President, right? Just using those words immediately strikes your entire comment from the realm of reality.

"Attempted coup". Is that what we call Election Day these days?

11:41, here's my prediction for the results:
Pennsylvania goes Biden. Ohio goes Biden. Nevada goes Biden. That's the ballgame.
Wisconsin and Michigan break for Biden early, and the results are obvious.
Texas stays Republican, but just barely, and they have to sink a bunch of money there to keep it that close. Arizona will be the same.
Florida doesn't want Trump as a President, but also doesn't want him living there. They're conflicted, but will vote for Biden in the hope that Trump's next residence becomes Rikers, not Palm Beach.
NC is Biden by a hair.
Iowa is too close to call until the very last vote is counted, and by that time, it won't matter.

The end result will be a resounding bitchslap to every Trumpian in Trumpistan. Put money on it. I hope the party regains the reasonableness of Eisenhower, but I expect it to implode. Perhaps if we expand the House of Representatives and institute ranked choice voting, an acceptable successor may reveal itself.
-registered GOP voter for many, many years.

To 11:41 AM: I think the number of respected personnel publicly criticizing POtuS is significant. Call 'em disgruntled employees if you want, but the numerous references to unqualified, etc. is telling. Heck read the forward to Cohen's book any you probably get that nasty taste of bile, along with some actual bile in your mouth. Make Trump and his adult relatives social pariahs on Tuesday Nove, ber 3, 2020.

Too late, the Dems already imploded. Penn, Ohio, and Florida will go Trump. Hispanic vote will lean Rep because they value a strong leader. Radical Dems won't even show up to vote or bother to mail in a ballot. California, Oregon, Washington, and New York will have massive dem-favored voter fraud, but it won't matter.

Preference voting would wrestle the power away from the crazies in both parties, but especially the GOP. I don't think Trump will win, but he definitely could. We still have a full month. I fully expect foreign governments to release information and documents in Trump's favor. That will definitely narrow the race. Plus, Trump probably isn't going to die. He may get a bump out of his coming recovery.

If Trump keeps the White House and the Senate then super legislators are doomed for the next 20 years. Will Roe v. Wade gonna be aborted after 141 trimesters? Doubt it, but one can dream.

This notion of foreign interference with our election is a joke. What, they put ads on Facebook and Twitter? So what, nobody cares or is influenced that crap anyway. They put out phony documents and scandalous dirt on a candidate? Our own media does that already. Short of knocking me over the head and changing my vote on the ballot there is no interference with my decision. Anyone that takes the time to vote is likely making up their own mind, just like you and I.

My first thought was he is not infected, but instead wants to a) avoid the next debate, and b) claim Covid was 'nothing' and that he was cured by hydroxychloroquine.

9:56 am: a) His quarantine ends the day before the next debate and b) wouldn't that be a hoot if he was "cured" by hydroxychloroquine.

I've seen this movie before it's called Contagion. Guy said he was sick and was cured by the miracle drug but it turned out it was all a lie to make money.

Speaking of Bonnie Bulla, I was not sure if I was voting for her, but today's RJ article provided me with clarity that I will not be. It was entertaining seeing her complain about her low 62 percent approval rating, blaming others than herself for the low rating.

For those who are fervently behind either of these two ludicrously flawed candidates, just concentrate your hopes and dreams on having your guy win at the ballot box.

All this other stuff is a distraction and a fool's errand. No one is going to get prosecuted for this or that, no one is going to have their life destroyed on account of tax fraud, or have their wife divorce and publicly shame them after the election, no one is going to foreclose on their properties and take them to the cleaners, no one is going to be publicly condemned by the World Court(whatever that is) for sucking up to the Russians, no one is going to be barbecued and shamed for helping their son secure some highly lucrative dream job he is comically unqualified for, no one is going to be impeached successfully, etc.

It's simply a waste of time and effort to get sucked into such dialogue.

I get that no one is above the law, and that a legitimate case could be made that some of these things could occur.

Perhaps some could, and perhaps some should, but none of them will.

Just view it as a complete victory if your candidate wins. That's the best one can realistically hope for.

3:43–very fair question. Some poor phraseology on my part.

I certainly wasn't supporting people not being accountable for breaking the law, and in fact get just as upset as anyone else when the privileged often seem insulated from such accountability.

I was only noticing that there is a real amount of rancor on both sides, and each side is saying the other candidate should be prosecuted for this, or hauled before Congress for that, and none of it seems particularly realistic.
None of that will proably happen, even though some of it should.

I have learned that it is a victory just to defeat the other side at the polls and that there is seldom a subsequent prosecution for anything.

Even when the US Attorney pursues public officials, the main focus is usually to simply get that person removed from their office of public trust. Often that is where it ends, and the public, and media, are disappointed that no imprisonment occurs. And understandably so.

But we have to accept the fact that the hard truth is that if you defeat a corrupt politician at the polls, or an official is driven from office by some plea deal reached with the Federal Government during prosecution, it seems that like 90% of the time the main "punishment" consists of losing their positon, and that severe criminal sanctions, such as prison sentences, never occur. The "head on the wall" the government prosecutors were hoping to bag is usually accomplished by the targeted official losing their positon, along with the public disgrace.

I didn't create that system. Often don't agree with it. But because I simply point out that reality, that does not mean I think anyone should be above the law, or that I don't sufficiently believe in law and order.

That's all I meant, but I a glad you raised the point, as it gave me an opportunity to clarify what I meant by my awkward phraseology.

Tell that to Ricky Barlow and Kelvin Atkinson, both of whom did "some" time. Shit, even Steve Jones served his full bid.

4:20, mostly agree except that it is probably not as high as 90% that the official being prosecuted by the Federal Government is driven from office, but no incarceration sanctions(or other serious sanctions) occur

All this discussion has me convinced no actual attorneys frequent the comments, just secretaries and paralegals. In my office the attorneys are all rational and the paralegals are anti-maskers and Tr*mp voters.
