Judge Bare 100%. Thorough decisions, let’s you make your arguments, and overall very fair. The other candidate has no civil experience and is running for an all civil department? No thanks.

Just because it is an all civil department now doesn't mean it will always be. Look at Judges David Jones, Wiese, and Israel. They all used to be all civil and now they have split dockets.

So then that means Christy will only know how to rule on 50% of her cases? Pass. My vote is for Bare.

Bare's legal experience was primarily as Bar Counsel, which would normally be a deal killer for me. But, truth is, he is a solid judge with a great temperament. Takes no BS in controlling his courtroom but isnt an asshole about it. He is a great judge and deserves another term.

Judge Bare 100%. Prepared, at-times funny and never a jerk. I've lost many more motions than I have won in Dept 32 and I still think Rob Bare should be retained.

Anyone know what Miley plans to do after she steps down?

No, but the list of characters vying to replace her in Dept. 23 is just about as pathetic as it gets. Couldn't just one competent person step up?

8:56–I really appreciate your humility, level-headedness, and sense of fair play and objectivity, but wish to point something out.

Had you said you lost more before him than you won, I would let it go. But you said you lost "MANY more motions than I have won."

And since you concede that he almost invariably ruled correctly when he ruled against you, you may want to become a little more discerning and analytical about what motions you file.

Decide what hills are really worth dying for. I feel one of the best traits an attorney can have is to be able to shine up their crystal ball and forecast what motions and approaches are likely to be successful, and which are not.

Losing 50% of your motions is one thing, but you make it sound like you lose over 90% of them.

If so, you may be a fine lawyer in certain respects, but your reputation will take a real hit if most of your motions, and most of your causes of actions, are ultimately unsuccessful.

End of lecture, but really, you lose "MOST" of your motions and you don't think that should generate reflection on your part?

But in fairness, you may be an associate, and if so your marching orders at what they are.

And yes, you are absolutely correct in your assessment of this fine judge.

5:56–This is 9:48 and you could not be more wrong.

Life long democrat.

Which proves that there was nothing about my post which gives you any valid hint of my area of practice or my political leanings. Why? Because any level-headed lawyer, in any area of law, feels precisely as I do and will reflect on motions, and the likelihood of success, before they file them, and thus not incur an over 90% failure rate. So, I am the complete opposite of the "bet the company" approach.

But you are in there guessing, so keep trying.

@948. How dare you question the almighty "billable hour" which controls this legal community!

Judge Bare is a fine person on and off the bench. I wish we had more like him. Not even a contest here in my opinion.

Wait – don't we all want to discuss the shit show presidential debates? I know I do! Local judicial races are important, yadda yadda, but what a train wreck that was. I felt on all sides – I want to know what everyone else thinks.

I tried to watch it four different times but could not last for more than a few minutes. I am voting for Jo Jorgensen (libertarian) for President? Both the Republican and Democratic parties are corrupt and designed to keep them in power and to keep the country divided.

Voting for a 3rd party is a vote for trump. They're both corrupt…blah blah blah. That argument worked so well in 2016. Do you just want to destroy the entire country with your nonsense? Get in line and vote Biden. You can complain about the Dems after the election. Also, vote Judge Bare.

It's the two big parties that tell us we shouldn't vote 3rd-party. It's their intention to maintain the duopoly. Hilary lost the last election because she had a campaign of I'm-not-that-guy. I'm tired of the same ole vote for the lesser evil politics. I say vote 3rd-party; no more duopoly.

I am not sure on this race, I might just vote for Bare. I was supporting Christy Craig, but she may have changed my mind.

Rob Bare is absolutely the best candidate in the race. His opponent is not well-regarded.

Rob Bare is clearly the superior candidate. He doesn't have any real opposition.
