Did you see the video of the guy running for State Treasurer who said that his first act is to get LV City Councilpeople to stop buying expensive desks?
Talk about not understanding the position.
Aaron Ford not paying his taxes to the point a lien was filed against his property is automatically disqualifying for me. I'll happily vote even for Chattah over him and that causes me pause. I say that because I saw a commercial saying Chattah was arrested? Is that true? If so, for what?
Yeah, I am not taking the Current's spin on the Chattah positions for fact. Kinda absolute for someone of her intelligence. I don't buy it. I'll support Tisha in a pinch, in the general, if that's who we are stuck with against Ford.
Did nobody feel the need to tell Black or Chattah which position they are campaigning for or what the office's duties actually are? I'm sure we can blame some of it on the Current's presentation, but man that was a painful read…
Seems like Ford doesn't really understand the position either given he'd rather brag about going after a whopping 3 people out of 30,000 for unemployment fraud. He can't do better? He can't condemn the source—-the office who let the alleged fraud happen?
Have any of you gone against Chattah, Black, or Ford? I've only gone against Chattah, and she was a disorganized mess that would blow deadlines and then send contract lawyers to take her beating. I've heard bad things about Black and Ford too. Are these really Nevada's best? Embarrassing.

Covid may be over, but MonkeyPox is the new thing.
@4:50 bad assumption, as many of the Judges who I would consider to be rule followers have already indicated a willingness to continue to use the platform for all but substantive Motions as long as it stays available through the Court.
It actually was not an assumption but a statement from the inside regarding the departments that have indicated that they want to see live faces back in front of them. I will agree that Kishner would normally fall in that category but her department has told people that it will keep BlueJeans as an option. The question that remained unanswered is the pay model for BlueJeans as the Court had such a cozy relationship with CourtCall before the pandemic.
Sorry if I don't want to drive in rush-hour traffic for 30 minutes, pay to park, go through security, and then wait for and ride on a gross elevator with a bunch of out of custody defendants just because some martinet wants to "see my face" for three minutes.
But 11:50 – how else will the judge hold a 16.1 conference and confirm that you agree to the JCCR? You know, the JCCR that you signed saying you agree to it.
5 years from filing of the Complaint (and don't be fooled into thinking COVID extended those deadlines). 3 years after the remittitur from an appeal was filed in the trial court.

Unrelated, Brian Padgett was disbarred last week. He was already serving a five year suspension from last year. It appears that he failed to respond to both Bar investigations and was defaulted in their proceedings. Interesting that the Order disbarring him does not go into detail regarding his conduct.
It is because (and this blog has discussed this before) they are disbarring him for not responding. Not responding is the biggest sin in the eyes of the OBC and NSC. It is the equivalent of a default judgment where they do not have to really worry about the appropriate sanction and the actual facts.
Imagine still caring about COVID lol.
Good thing early voting for the primary election is coming up otherwise we might still be under the declaration of emergency.
FUNNY how that seems to work
Read the Chattah/Black article. Would like to congratulate Ford now on the EZ reelection.
Chattah and Black debating — two fleas arguing about who owns the dog they're riding on.
Oh dear…neither of them seems to understand what the AG's office actually does. Or just spouting talking points to pander.

I think the commercial in question said Chattah has warrants for her arrest, not that she was arrested? I keep seeing only part of the commercial.

Heard Candida is tearing through certain facilities
I SUPPORT THE CURRENT THING
So some Departments are ending Blue Jeans appearances. F You.
Which departments?
Those who interview judicial candidates should ask them if they will continue to use BlueJeans in their courtroom if elected.
I wonder the same thing as 3:37. Which departments?
Think about which judges are the most strident rule-followers/rule inventers and you have your answer.

Everyone needs to read AO 22-07
Save the bluejeans
Which judges? I honestly don't know.

Civil question, how long do you have to bring civil case to trial from filing complaint? Thought it was 3 years?
5 years. NRCP 41
If the parties agree, the 5 year rule can be waived.
Gracias

Probably couldn't decide which of his many acts, they wanted to cite.
