I never read the comments. It's Crazytown. If it makes you feel any better, I think that the people who comment on these articles skew towards the same type who used to write letters to the editor, back when that was a thing: cranks and old farts who think everyone needs to hear their opinion. Not representative of the population as a whole. At least I hope not.

I'm looking forward to the future, once we vote Sisolak out.

And what Republican is going to defeat an incumbent Sisolak? Adam Laxalt? Ride that train at your own peril, I'll take a pass. Michele Fiore? These are difficult times that would have forced any Governor to make difficult decisions. Sisolak has not been perfect. He has done things I disagree with. But overall I think he has handled this quite well.

I am not a Sisolak fan at all. I think his tone has been pretty bad through a lot of this and it was dumb to go to a restaurant without a mask. That being said, I think he has handled this pretty well to date, maybe excepting the unemployment fiasco. I really don't get all the hate, especially in the Facebook comments (and with the weird need to turn his name into other things, none of which really make sense).

@11:46, honestly I'd vote for Ben Kieckhefer for governor if he ran.

Pardon my ignorance, but at first glance, Sisolak appears to be simply doing an empty, meaningless gesture about the masks – to placate Corona Karens – because he essentially exempted all of the following from having to comply:

bars
restaurants
gyms
pools
children under the age of 9
Homeless (or people then can pass for homeless like me)
Anyone who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition (not required to verify)
People in jail
Individuals for whom “wearing a face covering would create a risk to the person related to their work”
Anyone engaged in outdoor work or recreational activities, such as swimming, walking, hiking, bicycling or running

So – thats basically everyone. I already wear a mask when I go to the grocery store – so none of this changes anything I do or likely anything anyone else does.

What am I missing?

I'm thinking that everyone will magically come down with a medical condition that makes it hard for them to breathe with a mask on; especially since verification isn't required to claim that exemption.

Gov. Sisolak is inept and incompetent. He's not a big league player. He doesn't know how to use (abuse) the media to carry his message. He's divisive. Nevada is lucky because he didn't order patients to nursing home or care facilities. He's lost on: 1) pandemic; 2) re-opening; 3) budget; and 4) schools. His "plan" is to in line with CA, MI, NY and do whatever their governors they do.

Absent some miracle, Nevada will be riding the current economic train to nowhere for at least 3 years and probably a lot longer. We depend so much on tourism and the companies I do business with are not sending people to Las Vegas.
Work travel is non-existent until at least January. Sisolak will be a one governor.

We really need strong representation in Washington DC. I'm not impressed so far but will wait and hope for the best.

If masks are effective enough to mandate them be worn in all public places to stop the spread, why can't CCSD kids return to school full-time with masks on? Also, I thought it's been established that kids aren't likely to pass it along to others even if they have it. Has the CCSD considered these factors? My guess is no. It's like the governing bodies in this state are looking for us to fail.

The CCSD (and charter schools for that matter) don't have full control over this issue. Sisolak and his state superintendent have come up with a lot of rules that the different districts have to meet. There is some flexibility but not on distancing and the masks.

Judge Dawson in the Jessica Williams decision, spanks the NSCT:
"Again, it is that simple. For a person of ordinary intelligence who pulled the actual hard copy volume down off the shelf and viewed the relevant statutory provisions in their entirety in context, the state supreme court’s construction of the law expressly “regardless” of what the state legislature instead in fact had said in N.R.S. 484.1245 was wholly unforeseeable."

Has anyone challenged the legality of the governor's "mandate" that all citizens must wear a mask in public? Asking about the legality given the science and not the virtue signalling.

This tyrannical, socialist, fascist, communist, totalitarian, despot facemask edict isn't be enforced so why would anyone waste time and resources challenging it in court? It appears your most central and fundamental right as an American to not wear a facemask in the pandemic has not actually bee infringed. Somehow, we will overcome this victimization and oppression brother!
