Her ad in the Vegas Voice bothered me. Look at the column from a perennial RJ columnist in this month's issue and then flip to her full page ad. If she is supporting a publication that prints that hateful rhetoric, I am concerned.
Langford is obviously a lot more credible than Wolfson's opponent in his last election. And nabbing the endorsement of a huge employees union will benefit Langford's numbers. And yes, the whole issue of Wolfson's former campaign worker not being prosecuted will result in some limited,intermittent negative media attention.
But, ultimately, Wolfson's astounding name recognition advantage, and perhaps even larger financial advantage, should keep Langford under 40%.
But, the election season is very long and major unexpected things have a tendency to happen, so who knows.
I don't think this race is that long of a season. If I remember correctly, both are running as Democrats with no candidates from any other parties. The race is effectively over come the June primary when one gets eliminated. The winner of the primary wins the office without anyone other than Democrats having a say in the matter. That alone might be a good reason for someone registered as anything other than a Democrat to re-register (at least for this ballot) if they care more about the DA race than one of the other partisan primary races.
The point wasn't for a new candidate to file, rather for a voter to re-register from a party other than a democrat to the Democratic party so that they would be eligible to vote in that (and all other Democratic primary races). Granted, by doing so they lose the ability to vote in the primary races of their existing party, but if they don't particularly care about those races it gives them the ability to vote in the races they care more about. An interesting side product of such a strategy (assuming enough people do it) is that they can collectively have an impact on the selection of the candidate that your normal party candidate will face in the general election (e.g. selecting a more acceptable or a weaker general election candidate).
As you point out, since it ends in June, that largely eliminates any realistic chance of an upset. The upsets, when they occur, occur with the races that go all the way to the general election in November–wherein there are many more months for game-changing and unexpected things to occur.
The major union endorsement helps Langford, as does a few other items, such as the mentioned issue of the incumbent not prosecuting the campaign worker.
But most voters are unaware of the issue of the campaign worker. There is no real smoking gun issue. And, no, the reluctance of the D.A.'s office to disclose past info. of payments to witnesses, does not constitute a major issue.
It is just difficult to see how, in only a remaining month or so before the June primary, that Langford can put a sizable dent in Wolfson's huge financial and name-recognition advantage.

Is there such a thing called "friends and family court" for traffic citations? If so, when and where is this thing?
The first Wednesday of every month. Show up a few minutes before 1 on the 8th floor with a print out of the Register of Actions with your name and bar number written on it. You'll give that to the clerk when you check in. Sit back and wait for your name to called.
Now that the Mets organization has abandoned Las Vegas in favor of Syracuse, who will be the new big league affiliate for Las Vegas' AAA team?
I would love to see an affiliation with the Dodgers again.

The Dodgers own their AAA team in Oklahoma City, so not possible for them absent drastic changes.

If I'm not mistaken, it would be too late to do that, as the candidate filing period ended weeks ago.
I think 12:40 meant to re-register your party affiliation so that you can VOTE in the Democratic primary for DA, not to run for DA.
