Because I'm too lazy to click on the link above, does the Church of Bacon involve a) eating Bacon, b) watching movies starring Kevin Bacon, or c) doing both a and b at the same time?

Per usual, UMC is getting great representation from retained counsel and outstanding oversight from the Civil Division of the Clark County District Attorney's Office. Honestly, how do some of those people still have jobs?

Could it possibly be the Magistrate's ruling is unreasonable. Nevada's Public Records law is ridiculous and the FLSA (wage hour and overtime) is even more ridiculous. There are some significant issues which are fairly debatable. I would not blame UMC–they got sued and have to defend themselves. Would you suggest that they just write a big check because somebody says they had uncompensated time or worked overtime?

@ 1:53 – The issue is the failure on UMC's part to comply with discovery production, not UMC's failure to write a check! @ 12:59 was not blaming UMC — he/she was insinuating that UMC's mess in discovery could have been handled better by its legal counsel. Major reading comprehension fail!

Shitty law + shitty defense counsel = miscarriage of justice. I have heard Judge Leen is a civil rights/employment rights true believer, so that made it worse. I get upset whenever I see our staff checking out for the ridiculous mandatory 15 minutes. Yeah, like you are "working" so hard the rest of the time.

Judge Leen follows the rules. No favoritism just common sense. UMC should have not destroyed evidence, lied and made a mockery of the discovery process. Did you read the report and recommendation from the discovery master? If you did you would reconsider. UMC screwed up and got caught.

@ 3:15 – Whether you get upset at unproductive employees is not the issue. The law requires breaks to be provided by the employer. You don't like it, move your business south of the border or you risk the same consequence. UMC butchered discovery, got caught, and now has to pay the price.

If Sandoval were not a RINO, he'd line up the firing squad to take care of the lifers on death row. The money we'd save could go towards whatever mindless education initiative of the moment he is pushing.
