I would like to support Amy because I like her as a person but I cannot support her for the bench. As an Eviction Hearing Master and Pro Tem. she has been atrocious. Does not read the pleadings. Rubber stamps too many cases. Her temperament is fine. But her judicial acumen is lacking.

We should be talking about Uber’s ballot measure at least as much as we talked about Telles. It has the potential to affect every one of us.

Another PI attorney realizing his days of making $1m/year while doing no real work is nearly over… time to dust off that WestLaw subscription and get back to work like the rest of us.

The ability to restrict private contracts of what consumers contract for personal services should worry everyone, including defense folks. The next restriction from Uber/Insurance Companies may come by way of limiting your ability to bill over a certain hourly rate. Not only that, but without the PI lawyers, or with a drastic drop off in new filed PI cases, what will junior Defense lawyers do? You think this just affects one side, but this is incredibly short sighted and will affect the entire legal community drastically.

PI attorneys can take on different types of cases. Insurance defense folks are the ones in real trouble here.

Gonna cap what plumbers charge next? Because that’s very expensive.

Sounds like we need to form a lobby to force the plumbers to provide pro bono plumbing work. #LowIncomePipeAccess

How about we just cap what Uber is allowed to charge for rides home from the airport? Cost me $85 one time. I think it should be capped at $40. Let’s just arbitrarily decide what Uber is allowed to charge.

You could have taken a cab. Never understand why folks at the airport prefer Uber/Lyft over all the cabs just waiting to take you home. You get a safer/newer car too with a cab company.

You missed the point entirely.

“Let’s just arbitrarily decide what Uber is allowed to charge.” NJA should legit put lobbying effort into this in the next session. Limit surge pricing to say, um, well 120% of what the cab companies charge. So no more than 20% surge pricing. 20% works for you, right Uber? Good round number!

If Uber’s proposal survives a constitutional challenge, then I wonder if we see a wave of state-by-state ballot initiatives nationwide which seek to ban all arbitration clauses / class action waivers contained in form contracts. Would the contacts clause analysis be different in those situations? I can’t see why.

We absolutely will. They’re starting here because it’s relatively easy to get a ballot measure on in Nevada.

This will harm you too. More importantly, it will harm people who need representation but can’t afford to pay for it hourly (99% of Las Vegans).

Transparent and superficial envy rather than thoughtful policy analysis. Must be a Boyd grad.

Perhaps the personal injury industrial complex in Nevada should be examined and reasonable controls implemented. This isn’t the way to do it.

No. Because its so juvenile and comes off like a person with a GED who is angry at their counsel and universalizes that experience to express hostility towards all lawyers.

I have met a number of lawyers that are fully capable of this nonsense. I can’t decide whether to tell you to get out more or to be totally and completely envious of you.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but my understanding is Nancy’s done primarily civil while justice court is primarily criminal. We criticize DAs and PDs being appointed in district court because of the lack of civil experience so isn’t the reverse true here? Should Amy be in justice court and maybe Nancy go for district court?

Nancy has the experience for J.Ct. I can’t speak to how she will do, but she has the basic knowledge needed.

We actually do not criticize DA’s and PD’s being in civil district court seats. To the contrary we just keep doing it regardless of the outcome.

What claimed Spencer Judd. So young–cancer, diabetes, heart disease? Sounded like he had a clean life. Wow a shocker.

So Joe and Cole used explicit MAGA seals of approval in mailers. Dumb. In EJDC races in 14 and 27, the ex-DAs just tout the seal of approval in fundraising. But they have a complete defense as they lack the mens rea to violate the judicial canons…………hey this canon law stuff is civil law and “I don’t know nothin about that…………”
