Are there any law firm rumors out there? This blog used to share insider knowledge of implosions, growth, and lawyer movement. I rarely read that on here.
I do not believe lawyers should be spreading rumors about other lawyers because it’s important information.
Would be pretty incredible if chatter on this blog actually clogged up the court system. What’s the tipping point for a clogging event? I’d actually love to see how that played out.
how do you think we get paid around here? Don’t be so naïve, we need everything from legit to frivolous shit to keep the kids fed…..no better time to be a defense attorney than now!!!
It seems like everybody I know is busy. I hear from other hiring partners that it is still tough to hire good associates, particulary great writers. I feel like former federal or NVSC clerks can write their own ticket. There is still a large gap between the national and regional firm pay for associates and what local firms can pay. How AI affects those entry level associate positions is the question on everyone’s mind.

Senior lawyers, whats everyones position on taking a job offering more money even if you know the culture isn’t great?
I know of one, 2-partner firm that pays very well. One partner hired an associate/junior partner 7 years ago. He’s still there. The other partner has hired 7 associates/junior partners in 7 years. The last 3 fled. It’s a sign.
Perhaps you could be instrumental in changing the culture, since you will a senior lawyer in the firm.

Did anyone else see Judge Krall destroy counsel for lying on Thursday. The guy was fumbling all over the place. I didn’t hear his name, but he was a white guy with dark hair and about age 40.

The pay is significant (maybe $80k or more) but I know the culture will be really bad.
At $20K I would say hell no. At $80K it might begin to pique my interest but I would have a solid exit plan.
