I am so tired of lazy, or knowingly deceptive journalism that is obviously motivated by the journalists’ beliefs.
“Of the five lawyers who left the Reno office with publicly available voter registration information, only one was a Democrat.”
What is the purpose of this sentence? It is to infer that 4/5 were republicans but it is clear the author had the true data yet choose to deceive. It might be “4 are registered as independent and the only one registered with a party is a democrat”. Why be deceptive? It makes me dismiss any point you may have had, and to assume that they are getting rid of 5 people that refused to prosecute the law without bias.
Meanwhile “The first-time prosecutor frequently sought status updates on cases despite warnings that she was disregarding recusals signed by the deputy attorney general’s office in Washington that barred her involvement in matters where she had conflicts of interest, said several individuals. I looked at the Reno voter database. I cross-checked that with the names of 6 AUSAs in the Reno office that I found by reading through press releases in the last couple of years. I found one Democrat, one Non-partisan, 3 Republicans, and one whose name wasn’t listed but who donated to Adam Laxalt in the past.
Now, I will admit to using the NV GOP method of database verification – If I saw a name that matched, I assumed that must be the person I was looking for. But it would seem your pretend concerns are unfounded.
All I know is what a Reno judge told me during a settlement conference: “You know this is not Las Vegas. We don’t give out large awards and we like to convict.”

Low charging rate, the lawyers became indolent and lazy. Some retired.

Well the Reno office has been a shitshow for over a decade not because they undercharged but because they overcharged the few cases that they brought.
Maybe we need a law school in the north to have a pipeline for Northern attorneys?
