- Here’s a look at the status of the background check bill and what’s going on in the legislature today. [TNI]
- Since it’s Valentine’s, how about spreading a little judge love. We spend so much time picking on the judiciary and their staff, is there anyone out there that deserves a little love and recognition? Which judges are the easiest to work with? Is it because of their staff?
Dan Kutinac in Department XI. I know for some they think he is gruff but in all reality he is truly a pleasure to work with because he gets answers and gets things done.
I have known Dan for many years. Has always been great to work with.
Yes, he is quite good. Judge G is hands-down one of the best judges on the bench now.
Oh, and Judge Denton's clerks and staff are good, too.
And Jill in Dept. XI may curse like a sailor but she's the best!
Judge Jerry Tao. I wish I had voted for you.
The whole Probate Commissioner's Department. If Yamashita is the big motor cranking out an absurd number of correct things every week, his staff is the high-performance grease.
Commissioner Yamashita is great. His staff is (wait I guess we are not supposed to say not nice things today) NOT great.
MM is awesome and very helpful.
Yes she is.
Dan is nice, and smart. The only people in Department VI I have not had issues with are the court clerk, the bailiff, and the law clerk. That is as nice as I cab be about number 6.
Commissioner Yamashita is awesome. Very smart and hard working. I am amazed by the amount of material he reviews every week just on contested matters.
I like Yamashita. Half of his staff is nice.
"Half of his staff is nice." Hahahaha.
Tim Kelly in Carson City?
Back to the Bulla appointment, she is a democrat and that certainly was one of the factors.
ah that was the only the factor, care to jello with me?
j e l l o ….
what on earth does that mean?
What do you want it to mean?
Really like the NSC Clerk's office. Very class, very nice.
Our NSC Clerk's office is incredibly friendly and does a top-notch job. I think they should get more public praise!
Judge Beesley in bankruptcy court, and all the chambers and clerks staff in the bankruptcy court generally, are really great.
The first of three Magistrate Judge appointments goes to Brenda Weksler.
Brenda would be great. Nice lady.
Where are you seeing that?
Where is this coming from? I cannot find any confirmation?
Who is that? Why always someone who's an unknown in this type of position?
Wish we had more over there who spent time in the trenches on civil cases – like George Foley. I will miss him.
Dept N / Harter's staff is always on it
Depart 16, old and new. Tim Williams' staff and John McGroarty's. You used to be able to grab coffee and chat before court. Nice people.
Bill, Peggy, James, and Barb. Judge is a very nice man.
McG is the nicest man alive. All his law clerks were nice. Christy Lynn, Courtney, and Kelly. I miss that department. Renee and Bill and April.
Judge Herndon is always prepared, professional, and his decisions are well reasoned.
He is a rare gem
David Sorensen (Judge Kephart's Law Cletrk) is my favorite person to deal with in that building. So professional, but nice.
He's very professional and very knowledgeable. I like Judge Kephart and David is a huge asset to that department.
The JEA for the senior judges department—Eileen Spoor? She has always been pleasant to deal with.
Yeah. Ileen is great.
I agree! Ileen is a pleasure!
She is wonderful!
She gets my vote! Best in the 8th JD!
Love Eileen
Tamara, Judge Sturman's law clerk, is pretty rad.
Kerry, the court reporter, is also lovely!
Judge Wiese and his JEA Tatyana are great to work with. (So glad Judge Wiese didn't get appointed to the Court of Appeals. He'll remain a much bigger asset for the District Court). Also much love for Judge Escobar and her JEA Diana Powell. All very professional. We need more like them in our courts.
I like Judge Allf. I have not had to interact with her staff much, but Judge Allf is always respectful, prepared, and attentive. Even when she has ruled against me, I felt there were explained, rational reasons for her decisions. Can't expect much more from a judge in my opinion.
I have a low opinion of her, because of Dave Thomas.
Question: Will Bulla have to recuse on civil cases in the COA she made R&Rs in while acting as DC?
Yes.
Thank you
When will we find out who Bonnie's permanent replacement will be? Is it an appointment by Sisolak like the judicial spots?
DJs pick
I have the Friday love for nonbill board, nonphysician referral personal injury attorneys. If you are a client, that is who you want to hire.
But those are the dirty plaintiffs' attorneys. How do you think they get business? Pay clients to leave their current firm, work with marketers who stage accidents, pay tow truck companies, make agreements or pay doctors. I'd rather send a client to an advertising PI attorney.
10:32, that is funny. I am one of the attorneys above, and I am not a dirty attorney.
Clerk's civil division staff in all the courts. Couldn't work without them.
