- Based on the increasing rumors flying around town and in the comments over the last few months, something is definitely going on at Lionel Sawyer & Collins. Depending on who you believe, either everything is fine or they’ll be closed by the end of the year…. What information do you have on what’s happening?

If LRR can't even keep its performance reviews confidential, can't we get at least one POed associate at LSC to tell us what's going on anonymously?
That list of candidates for Appeals court is strong
I like that the NV judiciary generally is well represented by women and this list reflects that.
The silence is pretty strong evidence that not everyone has been put on the street. If there have been layoffs, there clearly haven't been enough of them for associates to feel anonymous enough to comment on them. That generally means some (maybe even the majority) have been taken by their respective partners to the new firm(s).
Given all the rumors that have been circulating about LSC, they've done a pretty good job of keeping things somewhat under wraps as to what's really been happening.
Think "Jones Vargas 2.0". I am sure some of us will be sharing info soon . . .
I was in JV 1.0 and I have to say that I never felt a particular urge to go post anything about it as it was happening. It was an unpleasant and stressful experience.
I second that! I was also in JV 1.0 and it was a bad situation all around. The worst part is the main players that were more than likely the ones causing the problem to be worse, were also the only ones that really knew what was happening. Bad morale around the office due to no one talking and sharing any information which caused the rumors to be far worse than what was really happening.
Sounds like somebody needs to start a support group for employees of imploding law firms.
We should start a support group of dealing with obnoxious opposing counsel.
"Jones Vargas 2.0" or "Bailey Kennedy 3.0"?
Explain?
Did BK go under?
I love Burger King 🙂
I thought he was talking about the infamous "BK Hottie".
A birdie told my cat that Fennemore Craig might be picking up the remains of LSC.
I heard that rumor too.
That rumor has been around for 4-5 months with nothing showing for it.
Silver has been telling her staff for weeks that she already has the job.
Someone from the North has to get appointed or the rest of the state will throw a fit. Isn't it funny how the State hates Vegas, but Vegas is the only reason why the state really has any tax money (small shout out to mining, but the rurals screwed up the vote on taxation – good luck when that source taps out).
Ugh, she is so dumb. Nice rack though.
Now, now, Joey, stop with the sexist comments.
Well, I know that politics NEVER play a part in whom the Governor would appoint…but just for the sake of argument let's say it does:
I would appoint the youngest members of my political party to each of the three seats.
They're not there for life. They have a retention election in 2 years.
Silver will be appointed. Its unfortunate but the easiest way to limit the harm she does on the bench.
Loved her in Muni and JC
Who will hear calendar for matters still pending before her, if she is appointed?
Makes more sense to put experienced judges on the intermediate court than those who never bothered to run for the job and actually do it.
Then they wouldn't have the political capital to get appointed…duh!
What? No comments on the girls with guns? I'm going to have check that out.
I like their racks. 😉
