I had no idea Shelley Berkley was an attorney.

Her bio page says “prior to serving in Congress” she was a practicing attorney. She served from 1999 – 2013. So, it’s been more than a quarter-century. With respect, I don’t consider her “just as much an attorney” as David Roger. Could be wrong.

Yeah, wasn’t there a scandal like 25 years ago about her serving as in-house counsel to Sheldon Adelson and she advised him he should donate to the campaigns for local officials so that if they got elected they might be more likely to do favors for the Venetian? She almost didn’t get elected to congress because of that.

Seems so quaint now that such a scandal could stop your election!

And Sheldon did not know that if he made donations to politicians they would be more likely to do favors for him? I wonder how his wife managed to get that Medal of Freedom after giving $100 million to Trump. (“Better than a Medal of Honor” claimed DJT). Yeah, blame the corruption on Berkley, who was long gone from the Adelson orbit.

Just filled out my RJ judging the judges survey. It felt cathartic to give Linda Marquis, Ron Israel and Joanna Kishner the poor ratings they so richly deserve.

Kishner and Israel, agreed. Esp Kish.

But Linda Marquis is pretty solid.

When I get intakes on cases with Linda Marquis, I level with them and tell them they need to go out and hire a very talented female attorney. I’ve actually had people call me back months later and thank me.

We’ve had male attorneys represent out clients before Judge Marquis, and her rulings were largely correct as to the law and its application to the facts. She also is one of the too few judges with the backbone to stand up to LACSN and call out its B.S.

As a man who appeared in front of Linda Marquis multiple times, I found her to be an excellent judge.

I respect your opinion, but Kishner is a smart judge who has a bad demeanor. Israel is a very poor judge with a poor demeanor.

I hit a paywall when trying to access the survey. I will continue to judge the judges silently to myself.

There is no paywall for the survey. Survey runs through secure UNLV site, not RJ news site. Need to access via invitation sent via email or postcard. Questions about the survey or access issues may be directed to the UNLV research center at createam@unlv.edu or 702-895-4196.

Survey-Not sure about an invite or email. How you sign up for the survey. I thought it was to be offered to all attorneys. Please let us know. I would like to participate. What does the email invite look like. I get 100 plus emails a day. Thanks.

Hottie judge gets a pass.

Ballous time is up. Gall, too. Mendoza is unpleasant as is Pieper and they’re both in over their heads in civil. Bluth doesn’t work. Four civil calendars a month.

Gall is a fabulous judge who probably does not stay at the state district court bench long. She has a bit of pomposity but is smart as a whip. Bluth works very hard and knows your record as well as you do. The remaining judges you named are not worth the wood their benches are made out of.

My issue with hardy is that he seems to have decided to just punt everything to trial. I had a SMJ that was black and white. Easy call. I know I am biased, but trust me. A no brainer. Opposing counsel and I were already talking about trial with the assumption it would be granted. Nope. Questions of fact. Seems like he has decided to avoid getting overturned, but just not making any decisions that realistically could be appealed.
