Dear Team Sleepy Creepy Basement Joe:

Can we expect that SCB Joe's positions will always change with the polls? Now he's against "mostly peaceful" protests and is trying to claim that space away from our President. Too bad SCB Joe. The silent majority sees that you're an empty suit. Get used to 4 more years of President Trump and America first!

Nicknames and nationalism, eh? That's the best you can do? The problem isn't the "Deep State" — the problem is a lack of deep thought.

Nah, it's the deep state that's the problem. Imprison hair dressers and hands off looters. Got it. Good news is Biden emerged from his basement and saw his shadow. That means four more years of Trump.

In more legal news, Kyle "Captain America" Rittenhouse's legal team appears to be on the way to a yuge victory, and poor Flynn will have to endure more torture at the hands of a villainous judge.

We started imprisoning hair dressers? When did that start?

Pelosi's pathetic attempt to verbally write a note excusing senile Joe from any upcoming debates was priceless. And thank goodness that Dem convention is over, nothing less than a full scale social assault on America. They just don't get it. At least the Rep convention had some production value.

Production value? The RNC couldn't even get anybody to iron those Dollar General flags before going on air. I'm not joking. Look back. They were cheap, wrinkled flags that looked like some intern scooped them up from the nearest Dollar General a couple hours before going on air. It was insulting.

The RNC did it right. They had an amzing fireworks show. The RNC didn't have a bunch of democracts, socialist, anarchists, racists crawling from mommy's basements to burn old glory.

What hero? Don't say traitor McCain. That evil traitor sold us out for money. He is personally responsible for my horrible health insurance situation due to his pro-Obamacare deciding vote.

Dodging the draft is as American as apple pie. He opposes all stupid foreign wars. Not bloodthirsty like that lowlife McCain.

Case close.

The Putin/Russia obsession is so pre-Covid. Move on. It was that POS John Kerry that was the draft dodging hippie. McCain was just angry. But I'd be pissed too if I was stuck in a POW camp.

3:18 are you seriously saying the RNC purposefully left all the flags wrinkled? Like fresh out of the bag wrinkled? I’m dying to know why.

WTF have I been paying home and office rent all this time? That's almost $50k I could have hoarded for the upcoming free fall when stimulus runs out. Now I feel like a sucker. My honor will mean nothing when I'm starving and homeless.

Isn't there some legal step required before the Governor's edicts can have the power of law? The only source of this news is the on-line news sources, which are notoriously inaccurate. (For example, the RJ keeps reporting that the moratorium is on evictions for non-payment due to Covid. That is NOT true, it is on all residential evictions except for public health and safety.) The Governor's Office does NOT have the actual edict posted, so we cannot determine the actual wording of Sisolak's decree. Yet.

Somehow the mild flu with a very low death rate doesn't seem to be what was contemplated by 414.

Ahem, *pretty serious flu with a relatively high death rate compared with the normal flu but a lower death rate than SARS*

But regardless, this what happens when the legislature abdicates its powers to the executive branch.

People complain the posts are too boring. People complain if the posts are too political, or are too snarky. The same person keeps posting over and over again. No one is ever happy.

Up until about a year ago, this blog was great. It seemed like it was a law blog for lawyers. Comments were often helpful to practitioners, but frequently witty, sarcastic and intelligent. The posters were lawyers, and it was fun. Then something changed. Those days are gone. The bitterness, contempt and malice is nauseating. Gone is the clever humor, replaced with nasty, disgraceful obscenity. Surely these are not lawyers—but who are they? And is there a way to get rid of them?
I don’t know who manages the blog, but I beg you, do something. Can you limit posters to lawyers who sign up with bar numbers and require registration? I don’t want to eliminate anonymous postings, because that fosters honest and hilarious responses. But the blog has been hijacked by a group of assholes and frankly, unless something is done to purge these blog terrorists, the blog is doomed.

Possibly use some sort of geo-ip system to restrict posting to only those within Clark County?

I agree with 10:38 pm. I am a semi-retired lawyer who practiced here for many years. I enjoyed the quips and discussions of law-related topics. The next two months are going to be brutal for folks like me who watch cable news all day. It would be great if the assholes confined themselves to social media.

6:09 AM,

The character and nature of the country has changed in the last four years. The vitriol, which has always existed, is now more widespread. I am discouraged by the number of otherwise decent people that I know who have been infected by vitriol and become zombie assholes. All of this is to say, the assholes are no longer a limited number of people, it's the rule and not the exception.

Nice try loco-lefty 8:41. The best way to get back to law related discussions is to post and comment on law related issues, etc. The blog is big enough to allow for political crap in addition to law posts. You have not obligation to read through a post that does not interest you.

I tried to use the Covid tracking app, but it is so badly designed that I couldn't set it up because the button to allow it to use bluetooth is under another button that you can't move.
