Maybe I am missing it. Saw this last week that Brent Jones is allegedly a lawyer. See it again. I don't see him on the NVBar.org website listed as a lawyer. So I guess I am asking for a little clarification regarding this allegation that he is a lawyer.
Aside from links to established local media outlets, I’m going to be taking down external links until the trolls stop with the bating and propaganda. Please go post that crap on your own Twitter, FB, etc.
I agree that earned run average is flawed as a statistic because it doesn't account for defense, ballpark or hitter quality. But I think it's still useful as an easily understood snapshot of pitcher performance.
The proposed ERA resolution also guarantee's absolute equality rights based on gender identity. This will be slippery slope. Once an individual identifies his/her/their self as a particular gender, everyone must accept that identification and will be subject to prosecution if they refuse to do so. It provides protected class status to anyone who decides to change their gender from the gender they were born with. So basically, everyone will be able to get protected status just by stating they are transsexual, including white men.
Notice what is missing from the list of protected classes? Religion. This bill has one purpose and one only, to force religious organizations to adapt or die.
No, that's the beauty of it, you will not need to cut your dick off! When you say you are a woman, then everybody has to accept you as a woman. I believe Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner received the Espy Ashe Courage Award without any lopping off an appendage.
How about leaving that out and just telling the court why you should win?
I just pulled the first SCOTUS brief I could find. It's by famous litigators. It's in the most formal court in the country. Does it start "comes now"? No. It starts:
This case concerns challenges to an HHS Rule that warps and decimates the Title X family planning program—a vital public health program that has provided critical care to millions of people each year.
The writers used their first sentence to the brief to tell the court what the case is about and why their client should win. It wasted no time with meaningless "COMES NOWs." For some reason, every lawyer over 50 in Nevada thinks they need a paragraph of copy and paste wasted verbiage before they can jump into what the case is about.
Hey @1:39 – I'm over 50 and haven't used "COMES NOW" since I left the ID world where 50 extra words might add up to a .2. I also severely shortened my "Standard of Review" section for summary judgment motions, but that probably needs to change with the new judges who haven't encountered Rule 56 since their first year of law school 10 years ago.
Can we please do away with the Courier font? Ranalli – I'm looking at you.
I once did away with the Comes Now verbage because it literally just regurgitates the information in the heading: Who I am, who the parties are, what the name of the document is, etc.
The partner thought I'd lost my mind and put it back in.
Now that I have my own firm. I don't Come Now. I take my time.
I love how this blog is so touchy about so many things but say any demeaning thing you want about Scientologists hahaha and it stays – I have little sympathy for Scientologists personally but hey it is someone's belief system so "Leave Britney alone!!!!" – P.S. I met Brent upstate and he is one weird dude about legal matters (noticed how I did not attack his religion)
Some would say Wokeness is a cult. Covid is a cult. Climate change is a cult. I have no beef with cults. I do have a beef with cults telling non-members what to do. Eff off, culty.
Did the demeaning things about scientologists get removed? I'm not seeing any until someone reacted to 3:21. The first reference to scientology was not demeaning, imho. Why so defensive?
Every white person is evil. Every black person is very special. Every scientologist is a cultist. See how easy this is? Now, let's move on to native americans, latinos, asians, gays, lesbians, trans, fat, thin, old, young, tall, short….Whatever you do, do not pay attention to Wall Street and its friends.
Brian Padgett is representing himself pro se in a matter on Dept. 18's calendar. BlueJeans: 110 137 874.
Yikes. This should be good.
It's already over.
And what happened? At least Crockett is not on the bench because when Crockett had a case involving him, Padgett was cruising for a bruising.
In my opinion, it was a bruising. Apparently BP missed a couple of judgment debtor exams. I don't know the details of the case.
Did Crockett get voted off the bench (i.e. Fmr.) or did he retire (i.e. Ret.)?
He retired.
Lawyer delivers apology.

Appreciated.
The ERA is a huge mistake.
I agree that earned run average is flawed as a statistic because it doesn't account for defense, ballpark or hitter quality. But I think it's still useful as an easily understood snapshot of pitcher performance.
12:37 has it right. FiP and WHiP are far better. Can't we get an Amen(dment) for that?

People are going to start cutting their dicks off to get protected status? WTF?
Not the greatest take, Phyllis Schlafley (12:49 PM).

You guys should go ahead and cut your dicks off. Have at it.
Do women really need the right to vote? (Not a troll)
What's up with old timey lawyers starting briefs "COMES NOW"? Did that ever make sense? Or do these people just have addled brains?
Agree.
In deference to our new woke legal community may I propose all pleadings begin with:
"What up, What up, What up!"
I'm with 1:10
You're denigrating the good name of Mr. Sales, cowardly racist.
1:10 is pretty good. I also like "Yo, Yo, Yo…."
How about leaving that out and just telling the court why you should win?

Alright, tell it to the old lawyers at my firm and at the firms I go against.
I once did away with the Comes Now verbage because it literally just regurgitates the information in the heading: Who I am, who the parties are, what the name of the document is, etc.
The partner thought I'd lost my mind and put it back in.
Now that I have my own firm. I don't Come Now. I take my time.
My favorite is from non-Nevada states where at the end of an affidavit are the words "Affiant further states naught." Does that go without saying?
Relax dont do it
When you wanna Come Now
Is wanting to "do away with the Courier font" racist? Asking for a woke friend.
5:33, no, but keeping it around is.

I hope he has insurance because he does not have much cash. Craig Mueller represented him in some cases involving money he owed to vendors, etc.
Scientology is not a belief system, it's a cult!
