Sure. As someone in defense work, we have gotten a number of complaints from that firm that creative in their theories if we are being charitable and Rule 11 material on the more accurate end. A lawsuit that discusses Nevada HAND being liable in some fashion and conscience disregard speaks for itself.

You’re doing defense work wrong if you care so much that you feel compelled to post anonymously here, and then actually post anonymously here.

So you back up one conclusory baseless claim with another.

Got it.

I’m a defense attorney who has been on the receiving end of Patrick Kang lawsuits so you have a sympathetic ear with me but even I don’t follow what you mean.

The OP’s meaning was pretty clear to me. I read the Complaint and have no clue what the alleged foreseeability would be that a woman would make a wrong turn and would be shot by a random anonymous person who may or may not have been a resident of that community.

May be clear to those reading the complaint but what I said was that what was posted on this blog was not clear. I did not read the complaint. But thanks for your explanation which does make sense.

He got his name in the paper; but no one will ever hear about it when the case is thrown out on an MSJ. So it’s a win for Kang. All that publicity for the cost of a filing fee.

So it dawned on him that the $200k+ management job that he took after the County paid a bunch of money to some search firm was, in fact, a management job? How does a few years as an ADA and then as a JP even qualify one for this position to begin with?

He was also a Henderson City Council member. He was as qualified as most.

It’s what he does: He was midterm with the Henderson City Council when he left for the Henderson Justice Court. He was midterm with Henderson Justice Court when he left for the Clark County deputy county manager position. Now he’s leaving again. It would be nice to know how much in tax payer dollars has been wasted by Bateman leaving public jobs midterm or shortly after appointment. Odds are he’ll be seeking another position soon. His track record shows that he’s all about self-promotion, tax payers be damned.

Same Bateman–how does one person get all these jobs. Anyone have any theories. I have theories but want to hear from others.

Hopefully LawDawg picks this up for a future day – folks have referred me work and it’s that holiday time of year. I’d like to send some gifts to other lawyers or professionals but would like to get a good gift – sure, I can do a food basket and may. But relying on the wisdom of the crowd . . . what do you all recommend?

Food items foil the fickle. Basket of variety of gift cards with your name on them so they remember they are from you.

I have sent out a fairly expensive bottle of tequila in the past to those I know like to indulge in such things. It has been a huge hit. Not the world’s most expensive, but something that costs like $300.

Same. Also part of the mafia. And when it is given to me (or wine), I pass it along to staff, who loves it. Win-win-win-win-win.

If you go look up his case he also filed to fire the Public Defender. I assume the PD’s office is not the same as Robert Draskovich.

I guarantee the PD looked at his case and told him there are no grounds for an appeal. The office could be compelled to file one regardless of merit, but they could not be forced to raise dozens of kooky claims.

For us old timers, I’d like to say it would be difficult to overestimate how much power the Tarkanians had in social circles when UNLV bb was at the top. Yes, I actually danced with all like a tarkanian at pts across from UNLV on the second floor.

Please!
We cannot reasonably question what went on back then, when the reality was that the NCAA, the Conferences and the schools were making billions off of the backs of these athletes, who were refused the ability to even decline their scholarships and earn their own money (Greg Anthony and friends). These have been mostly remedied now through litigation and NCAA changes.

It was a travesty back then and it remains a travesty today.
