I agreed to represent a client in Family Court as a favor. We cannot access the file online, and we had to sit outside the courtroom for 2 hours the other day, waiting to be called. Just more reasons to avoid Family Court.

I took a couple of CAP cases through LACSN. I cannot get into the files. As you may know, Court enters an Order adding you to the service list; still cannot get into the file or receive the pleadings. Family Court is REALLY broken.

DA’s office and PD’s office really duking it out to see how many of their employees are complete scumbags.

She is listed with the Washoe County PD’s office. Sort of a low blow to blame the current PD’s Office for Bachman and Guymon.

Her Linkdin says that she has been in private practice here for four or five years and does not mention Washoe at all. It also says that she hasn’t been a PD here since 2017. I don’t understand what her former employer has to do with anything.

There is no excuse for driving drunk/high but based on that article Bachman certainly sounds like an addict in the midst of a crisis. Hope that she can find the help she needs.

Current attorney and former PD fails to heed US Const. Amend. 5 and NV Const. Art. I Sec. 8: “Bachman acknowledged she had been drinking and did not pass the test.” Would you want her as YOUR attorney if she cannot exercise the law for herself?

Whatever happened with the DA arrested for DUI? Seems like her case mysteriously vanished.

re: Bachman
Article says she lives in Clark County but is a PD in Washoe. How does that work?

State Bar has her at the Washoe PD’s Office. Is that current? I have no idea. Bachman would not be the first attorney to work in one county/state/jurisdiction but live in another.

I was an associate for a business firm. A senior partner demanded that I handle a family court case for one of the employees. He said, “And it will be Pro Bono!” It turned out the employee was not the victim/martyr she portrayed, but was noncompliant (with both the court and her counsel) and massively entitled. In other words, a nightmare. I ended up quitting the firm, as did she. Hey Mr. Partner, you might want to think it through before you command an attorney to represent an employee, for free.

The partner was foolish. As the employee’s attorney, you are going to learn very personal things you really should not know as a coworker. Things you probably do not want to know. Recipe for disaster.

Bravo re: the movie quote heading. Didn’t know Nicky Katt from much else besides ‘Dazed & Confused’. That’s a film I enjoy revisiting every year or two, and that scene was fairly memorable.
