Some people claim that today and tomorrow are some of the least productive business days of the year due to the start of the NCAA basketball tournament. What do you think? Is there a less productive day where people are actually in the office, but work isn’t getting done? Does your office have a viewing party? Anything else going on out there we should know about? Any secret ADKT orders or OBC actions?
NCAA!!! College Basketball!!!! Yeah, no work is being done around here. Kansas all the way baby!!!!
I slaved over a hot keyboard all day on Friday; I couldn't care less about watching (to quote a Woody Allen character) a bunch of pituitary mutants stuff a ball through a hoop.
But when the next Star Trek Movie comes out, don't look for me all day and all night…
There was one published opinion today and it was authored by…… Quelle Surprise: Hardesty! The bully on the block.
Can someone tell me when and why SCR Rules 123-204 were removed from the Supreme Court Rules? I see them frequently and improperly cited by older attorneys. They also litter many old NSC opinions.
September 2017. http://caseinfo.nvsupremecourt.us/public/caseView.do?csIID=35681
Those are the Nevada Rules of Professional Conduct which were taken out and put in their own section with their own RPC numbers to correspondence with the Model Rules.
It was last year at this time that I had my vasectomy done. I made the wife take the kids out of town and I sat on the couch for two days watching the tournament. If only I had given more thought to my decision to pursue a legal career than I gave to the timing of my vasectomy…
do you think you need to have experience in DA's office to get elected as DA?
https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/investigations/clark-county-da-steve-wolson-kept-quiet-about-aides-theft/ fuel for the fire?
WTH! On so many levels. 1. The case should have been forwarded to the AG's office and Wolfson should have been immediately disqualified from all decision making concerning her case. 2. She was working as both a DA employee and a campaign employee at the same time??? Since when is that allowed? 3. They gave a known gambling addict and thief the responsibility to collect money from employees??? 4. They run a fundraising operation through Wolfson's office? Are they all fucking nuts.
"Wolfson’s failure to pursue potential felony criminal charges against Locke has raised concerns about whether she received favorable treatment because of her close personal relationship with the district attorney."
Gee, ya think?
And Wolfson campaigns with E. Cadish. Those are two no votes.
Looks like they're struggling to fill that assistant bar counsel position….
How so?
So today I was feeling a little curious, and I looked at the post a little closer than normal (i.e. instead of immediately deleting it). Do you know that they want TEN YEARS OF LITIGATION EXPERIENCE? What kind of attorney with 10 years of litigation experience would be willing to take that job? And why the hell do they think that they need that much experience, anyways?
Mincavage was fired from the place. We know about Stephanie Barker's departure. Who else has been run out of the OBC? Or is this just further evidence that when you have an open checkbook they are gearing up to have enough attorneys to start the audit mill?
I heard a rumor that Janeen Isaacson would be leaving and that they're looking for a 'senior' trial counsel to replace her. Maybe that's the 10 year litigation experience requirement they're looking for?
Also, why is Matthew Carlyon not listed on the Office of Bar Counsel Contact list when he started there either late last year or early this year?
Good for her! I hope it is true. That would make total sense and what a CRUSHING loss for the OBC. Janeen was their "senior" trial counsel which is why she got the Kirk-Hughes and Graham files. She was tough but fair, the latter quality being a reflection of why she would not fit in a Stan Regime.
Matthew Carlyon (a three year lawyer) got hired by OBC. And we wonder why OBC has no idea about the standards and practices in the real legal community.
I would vote for Stubbs over Wolfson.
Then you don't know Stubbs.
Or you are Stubbs!
No, I am not Stubbs! I like the dramatics.
I bet you were a big fan of Halverson then? Talk about drama!
You do not have the reading comp of above the 4th Grade. Please someone file against Wolfson. His immaturity is showing through these posts.
I think it would be a cruel twist of irony if Josh Tomsheck filed against him. Watch Letizia's head explode.
Um, who do the campaign funds belong to? I am pleading ignorance, but aren't they suppose to be accounted for at all times? Is Wolfson really the victim?
Relax 1:51. I am not Wolfson and I was just having fun. You need to get out a little, or stay in and get a BJ or something … geesh!
2:30, you are the thin skinned one.
It really is a shame this blog gets hijacked so much. But alas, I still stick around. Maybe one day…
You do. I hope you issue refunds.
I don't understand how or why the bloggers even try anymore. blog is dead.
