Big changes ahead as electronic filing and public access get upgrades early next year. [eighthjdcourt blog]
The ability to issue summons, defaults, and writs electronically is going to be a major improvement. I always thought it idiotic to allow a complaint to be opened electronically but require a physically executed summons. Then I could file the request for entry of default electronically but had to have my runner take a physically signed copy of an entry of default for the judge to sign. Same for Writs.
I welcome the updates. Especially if it makes the system more dependable than it has been lately.
According to RJ, Grand Jury convened and was presented evidence that she presented fraudulent documents to the court on behalf of many many prostitutes.
Vicki is a lovely woman, but one would never use the word hot to describe her. Plus Sized might be more apropos. She does crim, she connected to the whole Brian Bloomfield fiasco. If I remember correctly, a couple of years ago she had to go south of the border to get gastric bypass cause they wouldn't do it in the States and she had some serious health problems that may have included some addiction issues. I would anticipate some form of diminished capacity defense. Her attorney is a very smart dude.
I'm sure her "corporate clients" love that beautiful and classy building on Main Street near Charleston attached to a bailbond office. Not quite as nice as Eglet's building.
Vicki and her attorney are posting on her behalf. This sounds like it is going to turn into the Tammy Meyers case. "There is no drug use involved here." I am waiting for Conrad "Santa" Klaus to show up and defend her. This is good, fun holiday entertainment!
Regarding video – considering how many times this has been an issue, one would think that they would try to develop an offline archive system to preserve all video in cases such as this. It is not just that the video can be used against them in these types of cases, the video can also be used, after-the-fact, to show the actual situation and why the officer acted the way he/she did.

Sad about San Bernardino. Makes me consider getting a concealed carry weapon. Do many of you do that? I know we can't take them in the court unless you're a judge or prosecutor, but do you carry?
Like night and day. Hold one and you will notice right away. FNH put a lot of work into design and ergonomics. Plus I prefer to have a secondary safety besides "don't pull the trigger."
Internet reports similar. I will have to check one out. Thanks for the tip.

Whatever you think of Vicki, there is a really frightening element of this case for attorneys of all ilks. "In July detectives sought correspondence between Greco and Bloomfield related to the 39 clients, according to copies of the search warrants obtained by the Review-Journal. Detectives searched Greco's client files for certificates of completion from Chiodini's Genesis Center. . . . Police left Greco's law office with her computer server and found client files at a rented storage unit."
I am not a fan of fraud on the Court– but Law Enforcement charging through attorney/client communications, work product and files seems beyond the pale and really not OK.
But it is frightening for clients because it is their otherwise privileged information that is being exposed. There is nothing which indicates that they limited their search only to dirty clients. In otherwise, attorney-client privilege is dead.

Whatever happened to secrecy in grand jury proceedings? I get that the media does not need to give up its sources, but the judges should be conducting an inquiry of the DA's office attorneys, their staff, and the grand jurors to find the source of the leak. This is certainly not the first time that a high profile case before the grand jury during Wolfson's tenure has been the subject of media attention. Someone needs to teach him and his deputies to follow the law.
Wolfson sucks, can we do a recall? I want my tax payer money back that pays his salary. Ah, wait, he has a reality show. Pure, sugar cane quality.

The DA handling the case, Mark DiGiacomo, is a solid guy. There is no way he leaked anything. The RJC is like high school, any one of the clerks or Marshals or other people could have slipped the reporter the info. The reporter, Jeff German, is like herpes, he never goes away.
Jeff is like any number of STDs–anything to make a story. But hey it has worked since he has been one of the few lifers at the R/J who have not been shown the door.
With that said, Jeff knows when the Grand Jury convenes and where it convenes. He knows who was standing outside of the room and who went into the room. So what goes on inside of the Room is secret. However who is standing in the hallway and goes into the room is not secret and does not stay secret.
Jeff does not show up every time the grand jury convenes in hopes of learning some nugget of news. He gets a call from someone – from the DA's office, the court staff, or (less likely) a grand juror – and then he shows up for the high profile cases. It's not like state court is his regular beat and he does nothing but hang out at the RJC all day.

The gift that keeps on giving. A Glenn Lerner attorney, Douglas S. Younglove in the Phoenix office was suspended for 60 days. Worked for Glenn Lerner and Rowe in Phoenix. Reported in the December, 2015 issue of Arizona Attorney. He did criminal work. http://www.azattorneymag-digital.com/azattorneymag/201512/?pg=65#pg65
I'm very sure that Glenn Lerner is very distressed over this serious situation and is concerned about the imminent demise of his legal empire .

Big day for unpublished decisions by the Nevada Supreme Court: Harold Kuehn disbarred, reinstatement denied for disbarred attorney J. Michael Schaefer, and the Court affirms the dismissal of an action filed by Bonaventura against Clark County over abolishing his office.
That's a big day? Mike Schaefer is never getting back into the practice of law ever again and will always be a gadfly engaged in UPL and running for office in multiple states. Harold Kuehn gave up long ago. Nothing to see here.

Down goes Greco…
Details, details….
WTH is Greco?
Isn't that the dude from 21 Jump Street?
According to RJ, Grand Jury convened and was presented evidence that she presented fraudulent documents to the court on behalf of many many prostitutes.
Is Greco the hot Italian woman who does corporate work?
Is "corporate work" code for representing pimps and hookers? Wow, never saw this coming.
This grease fire has been burning for years and was due to blow up.

Corporate work is the new handle for pimps and hos. 10-4 big mama.
There is nothing to see here. Move along. Leave all exculpatory evidence alone.
Listen, baby, ain't no way that autistic boy is going to get convicted of shooting tami meyers.
Why isn't greco using beckett? He was a former DA.
Looks like it is being presented to the grand jury as we speak, will be interesting to see what comes of it.

I didn't carry until a few years ago. But after a few incidents like the current one and the sheer number of wack a doodles in this town I do.
Lee Gates is packing heat.
Vega, Mahan and many more
I can sleep better at night knowing Gates packs heat.
I carry.
Check out FNH's FNS .40, best handgun out there.
Have not used FNH. Better than Glock?

Most frightening for attorneys pulling scams. Not that frightening for ethical attorneys. More like cleaning up the house a little bit.
