Completely off topic (except insofar as tis the season to eat) but what do you guys do to exercise. I used to make excuses because I was (trying to look like I was) billing. Then I went to Plaintiff's work, but it feels like I don't have time because of kids. It seems like the only way to squeeze in the gym is first thing in the morning, but I am the master of justifying 20 minutes more of sleep while i am laying in bed. So I am looking to my fellow barristers who have kids to see if you are able to squeeze in regular trips to the gym.
Got room at the residence for a treadmill and a universal machine? It doesn't take much space, money well spent.

20-30 minutes of yoga/pilates/resistance training after the kids go to bed is as much as I can squeeze in. I cannot imagine a scenario in which I would have time to go to a gym to workout. I think we just have to resign ourselves to being fat and unhealthy until the children go away to college. So, for me, that's only fourteen more years or so.
(Also, I read somewhere on the internet one time, that lack of sleep makes you put on weight. So I'm erroneously clinging to that as an excuse not to wake up at 5:00 every morning to exercise. They can't put it on the internet if it's not true.)
I work out a minimum of 6 times a week for at least 1 hour per session. Everyone has different priorities, I make exercise one of mine. I see both physical and mental benefits from my time at the gym and it's not a sacrifice I'm willing to make. That being said, because of the kid factor (I have 2 under the age of 5), I have to get up at 4:30 and get to the gym first thing in the morning.
I have two kids, 4 and 8. Solo crim attorney. I try to get at least five days in, usually get 3 or 4. I do the gym thing downtown, there are a LOT of options. I need to do it just so I don't choke the shit out of my clients mostly, but it really has to be a priority. I blew up when the 4 year old was in the womb and it took a year to get that shit off. I see guys dropping dead in their 40's and 50's and so I thought either get good life insurance or work out. The wife made me do both. Selfish.

I think its easier if you just run in your neighborhood so you save the time in traveling back and forth to the gym.
The fact that UNLV, a taxpayer-funded institution, even has something called a "Chief Diversity Officer" makes me want to vomit. The fact that one fucking tax dollar goes to pay the salary of something called a Chief Diversity Officer" is sickening and offensive. Fuck!
^^^^ These kinds of cushy, bullshit admin jobs are precisely why college is unaffordable for virtually all families. Now that Boomers are in charge of the nations colleges, those colleges exist primarily to enrich the academic class first and foremost and to serve students as a secondary consideration. Of course back when Boomers were students, college was actually affordable.
I bet the "Chief Diversity Officer" pulls down over six figures of salary and benefits annually, and has his own support staff.
Not to mention that even if his job were legitimate, he sucks at it. Not inspired by a Confederate soldier? Please. Hey Reb wears the same color uniform as Confederate soldiers did – a color that isn't associated with any other army or organization to my knowledge. And it has the same red-orange colored trimming as the background of the Confederate battle flag. Add to that the fact that the previous mascot was a Confederate soldier, and you would have to be a moron not to recognize the ties. And just what is "Reb" supposed to mean if not a rebel, i.e., Confederate soldier? That's not to say the Confederacy is the only inspiration. He's also wearing a prospector-style hat. But any observer with any common sense can see the Confederate influence. Fail.
I hope he knows that he's stealing and feels some guilt and shame about the fact that he and his job are worthless. But I doubt that very much. More likely, people fawn over him and tell him what important and meaningful work he's doing. We are living in the bizaro world.

What the hell does this individual actually do all day, and where can I apply for one of these jobs?
