The unofficial results from the July 2013 Nevada Bar Exam will be posted online later today. Congratulations for those that passed and keep your chin up for those who didn’t. Ed. Results are up–66% pass rate with 233 new admittees.
The LVPPA issued a memo, co-authored by Kathy Collins and former DA David Roger, responding to the memo by Mary-Anne Miller about the legality of that arbitration award that gave Metro a pay raise. They don’t agree. [Ralston Reports]
Speaking of Metro, an officer shot a man last night that he mistook for a suspect. [Las Vegas Sun]
A California lawyer, John Thornton, has teamed up with local attorney Peter Wetherall to sue Sunrise Hospital for buying cardiac drugs from an unaccredited compounding pharmacy which allegedly led to the death of two children in 2012. [RJ]
It’s National Pro Bono Week. You can find a list of local events going on this week at the bottom of the page here.
Our condolences go out to the families of the victims of the shootings at Bally’s and Sparks Middle School yesterday.
Is it true that the list of people who pass gets passed around to judges before it is published? That rumor is killing me.

It's true. The folks on the Board of Bar Examiners also get the list earlier.

9:50,
Yes, it is true. All the judges at the RJC have it right now. Back in 2011, I found out I passed because another associate in our office had a friend who was clerking down at the RJC. This was the same year the Bar's website crashed, delaying the release by several hours. At one point, they were fielding phone calls giving results. If you know someone at the RJC, or you know someone that knows someone at the RJC, get on the horn! GOOD LUCK

WHY DO THEY NOT PUBLISH RESULTS ON FRIDAY!? If you pass, you can go get drunk and not have to come into the office hung. If you fail, you can go get drunk and not have to come in the office the next day drunk and sad.

The judges and Board of Bar Examiners members have the results now. If you know someone in one of the District Court departments, you can find out right now.

If you know someone that clerks for a Nevada Supreme Court Justice, they get the results around 8-9am in the morning. That's how I found out years and years ago – a clerk friend called me and told me that I passed (sadly he didn't but he still called me.)

Associate in our office connected with someone at the RJC. He passed. Kind of unfair to make those w/o connections wait, but, you know, in the words of Saul Goodman, this is a town where you've got to "know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy." If you don't know that guy, maybe Vegas isn't for you.

Heisenburg lives!
Does anyone know what time they usually post the results.
Thank you
Bar's website has crashed this year, too.
I cant get onto the website now 🙁
Ugh. Has there ever been a year that it didn't crash??
Is the Bars website hosted by the same company that did the Obamacare site?
