Every now and then it is necessary to meet up with clients or others for lunch. What is your go-to place for client lunches? Does it change if it is a prospective client? Does it change based on what part of town you’re in or are you willing to make the drive? Do any firms still have an in-house chef? What is your firm’s favorite place to order in for lunch? What do you do for lunch on days when you don’t have to meet someone?
TTHHWWWAAACCKK!!! and FIRST!!!
[eyeroll] The Poser I presume, since the real guy retired.
You heard it here first! 11:26 is the "Real Guy Dickhead"
Don't be fooled by fakes!
Awesome!

Looks like 12:12 the poser/copy and paste guy just came out of retirement.
OG Thwack and Poser CnP are the same playa.
1212 is retired from Thwacking, but retains the title and rank.
@12:48 is not a lawyer and should not be posting on this exclusive lawyers blog.
I guess you'll never know.

Oh I know. I snagged your IP by implanting a worm sequence on this blog. I know who you are, where you work, where you live.
Sorry, then you know I am chilling in my cabana in the Maldives, eh. Or, at least that is what my VPN is programmed to tell you.
You got me…..
OR
DO
YOU
?
Grub Hub at my desk. They even deliver PF Changs
I vacillate between Little Darlings, Hooters, and Twin Peaks.
Depends on the client of course.
Are you a cd defense firm?
That is funny. Cannot tell you the number of depositions that used to occur at Associated and Subcontractor counsel would leave for lunch and return some point mid-afternoon with glitter all over them.
5:07 – No, I work for the Children's Attorney Project for Legal Aid.
In the good old days, everyone drank at lunch and then went back to work.
Back in the day i recall Triple George really being the go to for power lunches with counsel or clients.
I was very disappointed when the roasted half chicken was replaced with a grilled chicken seared in what I regret to say is a not terribly appealing glaze. Not that this miserable diet I'm on makes much room for lunch out these days. I've taken to going to the Omelet House on Charleston for an an omelette with grilled chicken with no toast, no potatoes (and no joy).
My very best lunch buddy was also bummed when the chicken parmesan was axed.
I've been on some bad diets, and the Jordan Ross Diet sounds as bad as any of them. Deprivation to the max. But at least he's not doing what other's have done–publish the dreadful diet in book form and make a bunch of mullah off it. I can see it now: "The Jordan Ross 90 Day Dreadful Deprivation Diet"–No.1 on New York Times Non-Fiction Best Sellers.
It's been more like over a year and a half which is why I get cranky sometimes, but it's stayed off.
In other places I've worked, the typical client lunch spots were mediocre and overpriced (since the restaurant knows most people are expensing it anyway). LV's food scene is so good and (relatively) reasonably priced, I'm wondering if it's different here.
Used to take insurance adjusters to marginal eateries every week. Hated it. Now, avoid clients like the plague.
Pasta Mia (for lunch) was always my goto, when clients were in from out of town. Dinner was Morton's.
Countless lunches at Gordon Biersch, some at Capitol Grille. Diners at too many steak houses to count.
God bless those of you with expense accounts. My clients are construction companies. We meet at 4 Kegs or Paymons or something reasonable. They are not looking to be impressed; they are looking to eat and get back to work. That is why we get along.
Hey huge shout out for Paymons. Love their hummus!
Is Chicago Joes still open? Always great food.
Donna Maria"s always great.
Last time I took adjusters out, we went to the OG. Tells you how long that's been.
Oh, excuse me, "claims professionals."
For those who practice a lot at the Family Court Building, the obvious(and closest ) place is the diner at the Golf Coarse across the street from the court, on Bonanza.
But, although convenient, it is not that wonderful IMO–over-priced salads and stuff of that ilk, but little or nothing in the way of enjoyable, greasy, meaty meals for those of us intent on destroying what remains of our health.
For those of you intent on clogging that one remaining artery which is still partially open and functioning, then not far from the Family Court, on the SE corner of Bonanza/Nellis, is a very enjoyable, very reasonably priced greasy spoon with the somewhat ironic title Bonanza Lounge. And I believe they still have the Thursday two lunches for one price special. Whatever is your rich, greasy craving–thick, juicy burgers, fried catfish, fried chicken, French Dip… you name it.
Love that place. Love it so much I returned there shortly after my quadruple bypass.
2:16–It's closer to the Family Court than Bonanza/Nellis. It is actually at Bonanza/Lamb. Not sure if they still have that Thursday special you reference, but yes, it is really good, very reasonably priced grub, and served pretty quickly for those who can't linger and need to get back to court.
And yes, sadly you are right about the diner at the Gold Course. It used to be better with more variety. Now it is salads, lettuce wraps, things of that nature. Don't even think you can gat a standard burger there anymore, but I could be wrong about that. It's been a bit of time since I was last there.
I’m told that the golf course will soon be closed and sold off
I used to like Brio at Town Square, but it was a victim of the pandemic. I like places with good food that aren't a huge time suck to get in and out of.
I used to eat at Brio – am confident it was a victim of crappy management, poor service and overpriced food all before the pandemic.
Yes! It used to be very good for a chain. Went there last Friday night for the first time in ages and the food was terrible.
McDonald's and Starbucks, and bill the client for the time.
My clients buy me dinner when I win,or they send me fresh seafood.
As in you'll sleep with the fishes?
Is that a perverse way of someone doing me in? That is LCL game play on request. Sick.
