At the suggestion of one of our commenters: what kinds of gifts do you give to other lawyers to show your appreciation for referrals, etc. Some of the “Lone Mountain Mafia” have suggested high end bottles of alcohol—does that work for you? What kinds of memorable gifts have you received over the years? While we’re on the topic, what are you doing for staff these days? What are your rules for gifting as we approach the holidays?
A big box of onions from a runner service owner’s farm
Festivus for the rest of us ! i got alot of grievances !!!!!!
I’d gift the OBC some experience, the cabal some morality and empathy, the family court judge’s some intelligence and for me – a new career.

Take your sweet time, Judge Israel.
Opposition Briefs to the the Petition are due on December 5 for the Petition. On 10/31, the church said “If allowed to intervene, we can meet the existing deadline.” The question is whether Israel will have a decision on Intervention before then…
I’m not giving gifts this year, but in the past books have been well received. When it first came out, I gave out “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck,” which was well received.
Side note – that’s a great book. I recommend it to everyone. It’s less about “not giving a fuck” and more about proper fuck allocation.
We all have a limited number of fucks to give and the book discusses how to better devote those limited fucks to the things that actually matter.
The reason it’s a great book is because it’s a secular cribbing of Buddhism.
This book is a fun quick read. Easy to understand and implement the practices, if you like. I recommend that you skip your therapist this week and use your co-pay to purchase the book.
A donation to a nonprofit on behalf of the giftee.
Appears to be virtue signaling. As much as I like charities I don’t think that’s a good gift. But to each their own.
It was a great gift until George Costanza ruined it.
But it’s money for people.
Yes, I am going to take the time to take your $100 charitable gift for me and save it until march of next year to send to my CPAs so I can get the write off.
Keep it, thanks.
How about The Human Fund?
That has always raised a question in my mind… Who gets to take the charitable gift deduction..
Pumpkin pie around Thanksgiving – that was a fun gift from another attorney.
North Las Vegas gender discrimination is in full swing, I see. Its 2024, and we are still starting the day with a splash of misogyny. Timestamp 48:40.

Seems to me that they are trying to achieve gender equity.
NLV is and always has been a dump. Just keeping with tradition.
