We just had a tax increase, and crime is up. Guess that theory is out the window: more cops less crime.
No one will say it, but we know the increase in crime is directly linked to the illegal open border policy of our president. Vote Trump.
What open border policy? Obama has deported far more people than Bush. I disagree with his immigration practices, but the fact remains that many immigrants have voluntarily returned to their home countries and Obama has deported huge numbers. If you want the real source of crime increases, find your local methamphetamine, heroin, and opioid dealers. Then add a police force which spends far too much time on petty issues on the Strip and Fremont while ignoring real crime in the neighborhoods. Trump will solve not one of these problems.

Convicted felons can vote immediately after they are off paper as a matter of right.

@1:34 I believe there is an entire process to have a felon's constitutional rights restored and it is not always granted and can take years. After you receive your GED and CC Associates degree and are rejected form average Universities and give up all hope of even being admitted to Cooley Law School, you should never post here again.

Giving felons the right to vote is just another Democratic Party machine machination to win elections, just like importing the laziest, dumbest third world foreigners. A dependent voter is a reliable voter.
So long as honorably discharged on a STATE felony.
Exceptions to the restoration of rights: two felony convictions, A Felonies, B Felonies with violence involved. And I don't think state restoration will cover federal elections so won't help Democrats in national elections. Maybe Democrats just understand that stigmatizing felons is not so helpful to rehabilitation.

They were really fast to file a "notice of disassociation" in one of my cases where he was nominally the guy in charge. Never seen that before.

@ August 11. All I know is the weekend he was terminated he sent an email to the firm on Saturday at like 7am asking for a depo outline so he could help a friend out. His stuff was completely cleared out by Monday morning.

Agreed. Really good attorney and a nice guy. I've heard various stories – all seem to be rumors. Also alot of the firm's associates left after his departure.
Our firm got 5-6 resume's from associates at the firm in May/June and ended up hiring one of them. Of the 3 we interviewed, they all said Nelson was great to work with, knew a ton about legal strategy and very supportive of their efforts.
I 2nd chaired a couple of cases with Nelson years ago when I was with the firm. He did an incredible job in trial – aggressive, yet calm and collected with the judge and jury. I was impressed that as a newbie attorney he let me take some witnesses and told me to develop my own style. He would essentially make his opening statement as a closing argument – he was that creative. He would also ask my input on strategy and took it into consideration, which I really appreciated. He also "showed me the ropes" on trial prep. In the office he would regularly stop by and ask how things were going.
The office should put in a revolving door. I didn't have trials against Nelson, though we did go against each other 5-6 times. I thought he did a great job advocating for his clients and we were always able to resolve the cases at a fair amount.
Used to be a good place to work, now no different from the other insurance defense firm sweatshops. Heard that raises are not even considered for associates unless they bill 2,000 hours. Did anyone else over there take cases to trial?
Never was a good place to work. The firm has always had the identity of PB and that means quirky, neurotic and driven into the ground. How many attorneys have stayed there over 10+ years from the Las Vegas office? The failure to groom attorneys who want to stay tells you a lot.
BWBO is a horrible place to work but like everything I'm sure there are worse places. 3 associates left between August 2016 and September 2016. Multiple associates left/were fired when I was there and Nelson was fired. It's a place you get experience and move on. You don't even get to argue motions unless you've been there 4+ years. Most attorneys leave there between their 1 and 4th year.
I can confirm that they instituted a policy where you do not get a raise if you do not meet 2000 hours and that the number is 2000 after the insurance company/partner cuts.
Hmmmm . . . guess the guess work is out of why Nelson left. The future does not look rosy for him.

I heard she is a Hollywood entertainment lawyer who took the Bar here and opened a small office to eventually run for Judge. I doubt she even knows where the Courthouse is located.
She has been licensed in California for decades. Eric Johnson is a train wreck, I will take her over him any day of week.

Good Luck. Most insurance defense firms either encourage enhanced billing overtly or in subtle ways. For example, a status conference appearance goes from a 1.2 to 2.3
Uh, a status conference at 1.2/2.3? You mean that meeting with the Judge that lasts all of about 5 minutes? Man, have I been billing wrong.
