go judge hooge!
Yes. Go Hooge. Go very far away.
Let him go back to being a DDA in Lincoln County.
Hooge is our favorite pinata, but in truth, probably a better choice than many of the others.
Hooge is more capable than people want to admit. He’s been a DA, Bar Counsel and is currently a counselor in a Stake Presidency. That’s not the profile of an incompetent bozo. And no I’m not Hooge.
He was the District Attorney of a county with a population of 4,499 people, and his tenure in Lincoln County is exactly as dubious as one would suspect. His Stake probably has more constituents than that number. Don’t give me his titles; give me accomplishments because I am loathe to find any.
Not in that race. He is a distant third best out of three. He could have picked different departments and perhaps not have been the last choice.

Hendron for Henderson!
You mean Mini-opolus? Nah, we’re good
The 11:20 skepticism about Mr. Hooge is, I will be candid, not shared by those who have actually encountered him in a professional capacity. In forty years of practice – including, on occasion, from the respondent’s chair, where one develops a particular appreciation for Bar Counsel who understands the difference between genuine misconduct and the noise generated by dissatisfied non-lawyers – I have found his judgment notably sound. His efficiency alone is a judicial virtue the bench sorely lacks. A man who disposes of meritless matters promptly rather than letting the apparatus grind indefinitely is, frankly, exactly the temperament the court requires. The fee burn on a protracted bar grievance is considerable; a Bar Counsel with discretion saves everyone involved a great deal. I would gently observe that his critics here have not, on the evidence, sat where the discretion actually matters.
I might suggest you read his application for nomination to the bench. His willingness to blame pretty much everyone else for his professional disappointments comes across pretty clearly. We don’t need more pettiness on the bench.
Should be required to put a name to a post like this. The bar’s “judgment” was on full display for three days of public hearing for all to see in the public defender subpoena case. So this secret praise is rejected thank you very much.
Which case? I must have missed it.
Indy coverage spot on
The Judges that are MAGA republicans should stop masking. Thunell, Reynolds, Wiese, why are you shy all of a sudden
Where’s this MAGA-ccusation coming from?
None of them seem like MAGA republicans to me, if anything they would seem like old guard republicans labeled as RINOs by the current MAGA nuts if anything. Honestly I miss the days of the old guard republicans. At least they were principled.
