I should be on a 70 over 70 list.
I heard Telles is going to play his Sovereign Citizen’s card thus not only winning his case but becoming the judge for all other cases this year.
This is the best iteration of this joke I’ve seen so far
“I do not consent to this prosecution.”
I actually have an acquaintance that went this route in Oregon.
There is actually a case, and the only reason I believe it is that I have read the trial transcripts where this guys tells a federal D. Ct. judge: ” I do not recognize the authority of this court under the constitution of the United States.”
Judge: “You’re out of order!”
My Acquaintance: ” No, Mike! You’re out of order!”
42 months in Federal Prison
“This is an admiralty court because there is fringe on the flag.”
I would be more interested in a 50 over 50 list. Or 9:34’s 70 over 70 list.
Good Lord, $300,000 to manage Laughlin’s fire dept. I know the RJ’s been picking a fight with the county recently, but anyone know what the reasoning was for this pay rate?
Looks to me like the “highest paid” are all people who retired and cashed out all their unused PTO or severance bennies. This isn’t just their base salary plus regular annual perks. It includes end of career cashouts. I don’t know if that guy retired during the year, but that’s my guess.
Yeah. The County used to have longevity too and so people who started in the 80s and 90s were incentivized to never retire in some cases. Depending on what you’re looking at PERS and insurance are also assigned a dollar value on Transparent Nevada.
That list drives home something we all know, but rarely talk about: it is an overwhelming advantage in life to be physically attractive. This is especially true in a town as shallow and materialistic as Las Vegas. Those with average looks or even the unattractive can make it; but they have to be 10x more competent and productive than their attractive competitors.
Notice also that none of the people on that 40 under 40 list have face tattoos, blue hair, or nose rings.
Tend to your appearance, people – especially you women.
Breaking news: Hot people get more opportunities.
C’est la vie. You play the cards you’re dealt.
I got where I am bc my pogo stick is the size of one on a mule with gigantism.
If you’re going to claim that, I request, on behalf of all the pogo stick appreciaters, pictures. Thank you.
Aren’t these lists just pay to play? And most of the people on the list are trying to get attention in a Karsdashian sort of way? I see some nepo babies on the list.
Try being a 5′ 5″ male. I might as well be invisible. I’ve given up.
But if you have the big D you’re good Mikey.
I can think of a few short male attorneys in Vegas that I have a lot of respect for, you just gotta have some swagger!
I spy a Boyd ’13er in there! The only surprise is they only included one. Congrats Erica!
Well deserved.
I don’t know, maybe cars don’t need to be able to go 100 mph OVER THE LIMIT.
That guy should burn in hell. Doesn’t mean I need you as my nanny.
What’s nanny about following a law that protects the lives of others? If you want to drive 140 on a closed course go for it. Public roads are shared space.
What are you, slow? Or did you not read the nanny post.
Nanny is eliminating cars that can go 100mph over the posted speed limit because you think that is the solution.
What’s “nanny” about it is the thread starter that cars don’t need to be able to go 100mph over the limit. Of course they don’t NEED to, but if someone wants a car that can do it, so be it – they of course shouldn’t be doing that on a public road and causing accidents that injure or kill people. The ability to control our impulses and behaviors is what is supposed to distinguish us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Some people just didn’t get the memo.
Happy Easter, yo u miserable bitches and bastards!
There is an increasing problem in the EJDC Civil Division which is judges who are not timely turning around decisions and judgments and then clearly have forgotten what the case is about. You cannot tell me that your decision is sharper on a trial 9 months after the trial occurred and you still have not rendered a decision. I know people who state welcome to the Federal model. However I have never had a trial in federal court where the judge has not rendered a decision for nine months.
I had a BK trial that took 21 months to get a final decision.
I detest hearing “I am taking it under advisement and will issue a decision.” and then having to explain to my client “We don’t have a decision yet.”
Hear, hear.
