Re CCSD. Without violating any confidentiality, Mildly interesting note – I had a CCSD Police Officer as a client, we got to be kind of friends and had lunch a few times. One time he told me that he found a loaded gun and told the administrator and was told to NOT report it as it made their stats look bad. So he threw the gun away. IDK if true but I found it interesting.

It would surprise me that a CCSD Officer answers in that situation to a bureaucrat administrator. Or that he would obey such an order.

Regarding the NPRI standing case, so I guess what used to be a fairly unmalleable doctrine requiring an injury in fact for standing has been cast aside and now means whatever Justice Hardesty says it means. Schwartz was supposed to mark a limited exception to the requirement for injury in fact, a proper plaintiff, etc. The NPRI decision, as the opinion puts it, "limitedly expand[s]" the public interest exception. With the Schwartz case and now this case, what's the dividing line separating general taxpayer standing to bring legal claims against government and this so-called limited expansion of standing doctrine? If there is one, it's hard to tell precisely where the line now lies.

The line is whatever four people say it is at a given moment. Rule of "law." Because of course someone will analogize to that case. Disappointing to see such an outcome-determinative decision.

CCSD is a raging dumpster fire. Jara must be fired. We must replace every single one of those buffoon trustees. We must start expelling these animals that assault others at school.

12:13 I agree with everything you said. Sadly, without one more step, NOTHING will significantly change.

The district must be broken up. Like they promised us they were doing years ago!

There are a lot of problems with breaking up the district. The fights have nothing to do with the size of the district though. I have to wonder, how much money is going to admin instead of school counselors and social workers. Students are not getting support at home. There has got to be a better way of dealing with this than to create a school to prison pipeline…which is pretty much what is happening.

"support at home"
Maybe. But to solve the problem disinterested parents need to become interested. How – fine the parents for the cost the District incurred because of your "perfect" child's criminal acts. Expel the little angel.

You can certainly leave glib comments about the issue and expel kids from school, but the reality is that children do not have fully formed brains at the high school age. Add in the hormones of puberty and it is no wonder they are all insane. We as a society can acknowledge that there are problems with these kids and we can expel them and lock them up and then we create a permanent under class of criminals who are unemployable. While that idea might appeal to some who want to scream law and order every time they hear of any social issue, the reality is that jails and prisons cost A LOT OF MONEY. I would rather pay for a few social workers and a few counselors that help keep these kids in school and out of jail and help them graduate. Then they can grow up, get jobs, and be productive, tax-paying members of society.

This particularly woke comment in the vein of "compassion" fails to recognize a very real truth. This shit isn't happening in Boise Idaho, Phoenix AZ and Dallas TX to the extent it is happening here.

"woke" Seriously? Because I would rather spend a few tax dollars putting social workers in schools than pay millions to incarcerate people?
