Wait. You sue you HOA which has a duty to disclose to its members and then you get upset that the HOA discloses your lawsuit to its members? What a complete and utter non-story.
Agreed. When you file a lawsuit, there is always the risk that someone will find out and report it publicly. LMAO!

Rhodes Ranch: Shame on them for apparently having a lapse in coverage. No excuse for that. They probably are required by NRS 116 to provide a disclosure of some nature. Did they go beyond what was strictly necessary and "out" this woman when perhaps they did not need to? Don't know the answer to that one. Suncoast: Isn't that what elevators are for? I will bet there is a warning posted as well. Desert Springs: If true, and they had any inkling of this person's propensities, or a background check/proper supervision would have revealed any red flags, then absolutely take them to the cleaners.
The article refers to it as an "escalator" about five times, and a "moving walkway" once or twice. To me, "escalator" implies that, well, one is being escalated. Typical crack reporting by the RJ.
I'm at Suncoast often (thanks mom and dad). The moving walkway has a large yellow warning sign on each side of the entrance, one that says "hold onto the handrail". It's very well marked.
Can we get a discussion going on the new (or old) judges? We have a lot of new people on the bench and very limited analytics. Are they getting overturned? Do they grant extensions? Do they know what they're doing? Do they hate civil litigation (e.g., should we always preempt?), etc. Can people share their experiences or can the blog do something that helps us with this?
We don't all have listserves like the plaintiff's bar…. (but, maybe we should).
Many of the newer judges are disappointing and refuse to apply civil procedure rules as intended, and fairly. Some of them have subject matter competence issues and appear to lack the discipline and demeanor to serve in such an important role. Then there’s straight geniuses coming out of the gates kicking major butt and giving us hope: Judge Trujillo and Judge Barisich. Although, Judge Gall is an up and coming all star. I’m really proud of these women. It takes guts to put yourself out there. To the others finding their stride, again, good on you for putting yourself out there. I won’t call you out by name, because you deserve a chance to figure out who you are going to be on the bench and I have tremendous hope that you’ll choose a legacy of encouragement. All we want is a fair shake, and to know the Rules mean something. Also, stop letting attorneys try to humiliate one another, and you stop trying to humiliate them too.
Barisich was better than advertised. Trujillo and Kierney are as bad as advertised. Krall was really rough to start and has gotten better.

I know we've talked about SB1 and the As, but can we take just a moment to recognize the statements submitted in opposition. For example, one person submitted an image of a catfish wearing an A's cap, saying, and I quote, "Please don't fall for this dumbass stadium scam." Another one said "Let Oakland take out their own trash."
The special session seems to have been in recess all day. Has anyone been able to actually see something happen today? Have been checking every so often and it is always in recess.
How hard is it to just say: "No, finance your own damn stadium"? And why does the Review Journal keep showing that computer generated image depicting the stadium occupying the entire thirty-four acre Tropicana property? Bally's Corp. only agreed to give nine acres for the stadium. Even if the Legislature agrees to give the A's the money, the stadium isn't going to look anything like that.
It's actually quite hard to say no, 5:02 PM. I wish it wasn't so. These Legislators are getting hit by organized labor AND the casinos to ram this thing through even though none of the numbers make any sense. For Democrats in particular, these are existential political forces. Governor Lombardo is also holding other legislation hostage until Fisher gets his money. So it isn't as simple as whether or not this stadium makes sense economically (it clearly doesn't). Politically, there may not be any other choice, particularly for Senate Democrats.
I have never written my state legislators before but I emailed swindlin' Suzie Lee and Dondero to let them know I cannot and will not support a politician who votes to give Fisher (or any sports owner) a dime of public financing.
Leave. The most important thing you can find is a partner who will mentor you, support you, and promote you to the firm. Get out before it is too late.

Suncoast. Its a flat powered walkway from the parking garage to the casino. and there are no "No Walkers" signs at the entrances.

Rhodes Ranch has been in the course of a power struggle for quite a long time now.

Better detail on the Suncoast case: https://www.8newsnow.com/news/local-news/wife-of-man-killed-in-las-vegas-hotel-on-walkway-escalator-files-wrongful-death-lawsuit-against-boyd-gaming/
Even if they did go beyond what was strictly necessary to "out" the plaintiff, what is the legal claim in that?
Can we start calling a certain family jUdge Allan Kassenoff now?
This is cryptic.

Our Nevada Judges does some decent stuff on appeal rates (or used to) on their website.

Those are actually better structured arguments than the OBC has made lately in their Discipline reply briefs

I'm not political insider, but I fear that the recess means they are working towards a compromise and that Fisher will get his money.

6:31 nailed it. That's why it will get pushed through.

Susie Lee is a U.S. rep. She doesn't have a vote.
Why not have input regarding great firms to join and firms to avoid. I would love to hear what people have to say.
Does anybody know of a pleasant place to work? I haven't found one. I have had to endure far too much back stabbing and jealousy.
My firm is pleasant when the benevolent dictator is being benevolent.
Exactly. Sorry you are going through it.
Rather than being part of a team the partner I work for seems to want to compete with me and put me down. I have about had it.

Learning to say thank you or I appreciate you would go a long way.
