Probably still best not to try to pet a coyote.

The original video was a little kid who was going to pet a dog. The audio then got dubbed over a subsequent video involving a bear.

Henderson Realtor sentenced yesterday for exploitation a man 40 years her senior. Six months is very light sentence given all her shenanigans. But she’s on parole for 5 years fixed. If she violates parole, she’ll go to prison for 12-30 years.

If you want to exploit someone, marry them, police won’t investigate, and DA won’t prosecute.

She had him sign a fraudulent Declaration of Domestic Partnership during a period when he fell victim to a Publisher’s Clearing House scam. They did not live together nor were they in a sexual relationship. She made him think it would lead to marriage. She’s also a lesbian but never told him that either. She didn’t realize it at the time, but when she signed that Declaration, she was signing her own death warrant. Domestic partners have the same rights and fiduciary duties imposed onto married couples. The “domestic partnership” gave rise to a presumption of undue influence against her. That ended the civil trial for her because the burden shifted to her and she had no defense to prove there was no undue influence.

Well, the police investigated her, the DA prosecuted her, and the jury convicted her. Of course, it didn’t help her that she kept the “domestic partnership” a secret for over two and a half years and denied she was in one when she signed various loan documents. She only used it if it could help her exploit him.

That sentence is crazy short. On the other hand, if you read the story and then go to her website, she is so crazy that you have to think she is going to violate.

Which website are you referring to? Strong Arm Foundation’s website has been taken down. Yes, she is crazy and everyone involved in this case believes she will violate. It’s only a matter of her getting caught.

I remember him being taken to schools and health classes to do basically “scared straight” type presentations. Apparently, he failed to straighten himself out. If I killed three friends, I don’t think I could ever drink again.

Alcoholism is a disease, you can’t really think of it in rational terms like that. I’m sure he told himself the same thing. My cousin nearly died from drug use, said a million times she’d never risk her life doing it again, and then OD’d a couple years later.

That said, we have a responsibility to protect society from people who are physically incapable of stopping themselves from drunk driving. The fact that this guy is still allowed to drive after multiple DUI crashes, including a triple homicide, is outrageous.

It would be very easy to get rid of DUIs. A mixture of mandatory ignition interlock devices coupled with draconian penalties would do the trick. But there is no will in the legislature. A young boy was killed in Henderson last year just outside his school and his family tried to get the penalties increased. They had to beg and plead just to get the democrats in the legislature to agree to increase the penalty for DUI causing death by 1-2 years, lol. It’s shameful. But apparently people are fine with the status quo.

I’m a democrat and I’m not okay with it. My first wish would be lengthy revocations for DUI, like three years for first, 15 years for second, and lifetime for third, regardless of how many years pass between offenses. I’m afraid the will to legislate does not exist because bars and casinos make too much coin filling out streets with drunks every day. Also, car companies own us in a place like Vegas where you cannot do anything without a car. The idea that someone would not be allowed to drive ever again may as well be an alien language, nobody can comprehend it.

Prison. Keep him where he can’t hurt anyone.

My wife was T-boned and almost killed by a drunk. I pulled his records. No kidding the fucker had a dozen DUI priors, one with death. Never served more than a little time. It’s not the innocents we need to burden but the guilty — Pareto’s Law is real. It’s the tiny percentage of freaks who cause most of the harm and they should be locked up. That’s why three strikes worked so well.

End of story: the insurance paid, the drunk walked. I am sure he DUI’d again, but who cares, right? As my criminal defense pal said: the entire DUI regime has absolutely nothing to do with protecting the public but with fattening the state coffers. An inmate is an expense; a DUI punk paying fines and paying for moronic classes is pure profit. Nevada simply does not have the prison space, nor the interest in protecting the public. There’s no money in it.

A blast from the past. I’m a proud GVHS alum, but yeah – some people don’t change, I guess?

See the BOG report, presumably emailed to all Bar members today?
Notably missing is anything pertaining to advocating for the profession. Notably mentioned is that the OBC fines heavily contributed to a budget surplus, and also, a concerted effort to water down the bar admissions process.

I noticed the same. Also no mention of reducing our annual dues or providing more free CLEs. The amount of money the bar makes off of CLEs sickens me. If there is such a surplus, why aren’t they free? Or reduced in price?

Weird that they have a goal. So if they’re below their goal and you get some BS grievance from opp counsel you just beat at trial, does that mean you now get a full blown complaint so their numbers look better?
