Also, “Giuseppe’s Pizza” or whatever might turn out to be Chuck E Cheese. When someone comes up with a good idea, it takes no time at all for the scammers to glom on to it.
Not sure what that substitute teacher was thinking about engaging in a fight with a student, but his career in education has self imploded. The kid had an attitude problem, but did not deserve the beating on school property by a teacher.
I’m not sure if this is still the case, but at one time the only requirement to be a sub in the CCSD was a bachelor’s degree. Lots of people with no real experience or training. Plus it’s like $75.00 per day or something like that, so you get what you’re willing to pay for.
Agreed on 12:18. While no one should be using racial slurs, the snowflake teacher did not need to resort to violence to try and get dignity or manners out of the student.
Disagree. High schoolers are generally assholes. Dude fucked around and found out. Doesn’t excuse the sub’s action (solid 1, 2, btw), but he did that dumbass a favor by laying him out.
I remember as a teen in like 7th grade, I had a sub who had been left a video to put on that was relevant to what we were learning at the time in that class. He decided that it sucked, so instead he brought in “Empire of the Sun.” for us to watch. Great movie, but had nothing at all to do with our class. The look on our teacher’s face when we told him we had just watched some random movie was priceless.
I think it’s up to 120 per day for CCSD substitutes. Still less than you’d make working at Costco or In N Out.
Anytime you call someone the N word, you give them a right to beat you up. Period.
Tell that to a judge and pray for leniency and understanding. Let me know how that works out. Spoken like a true democrat and this DEI bullshit advocacy that the State bar is promoting.
OP here. since half the judiciary is a minority, ill take my chances.
Wrong, words are not violence no matter how much you want them to be. Violence is violence. Words should be countered with more words. Violence met with violence. Answer words with violence, you should be arrested.
I saw the video from numerous angles. The kid put his hands on the teacher first. FAFO
Someone should also do a class action suit on behalf of Uber Eats customers. There is a scam where fake restaurants complete with menus are promoted as real, then when you order, you get crap from a different restaurant. “Don’t Grill My Cheese” orders are fulfilled by an Earl of Sandwich mall location. They don’t have a deep fryer, so if you order French Fries, you get sad microwaved frozen tater tots instead. If you order their $14.95 BBQ Brisket Grilled Cheese, you get something slapped together with whatever ingredients they have on hand for their sad standard $8.49 sandwiches with some BBQ sauce on top.
I think that’s what the class action is about – the real restaurants are suing the fake ones. I suppose a separate class action could be brought on behalf of the customers, but T&C probably would prohibit that and require anything to be brought on an individual basis / arbitration clause etc. I would assume that the restaurants suing now are not subject to any t&c, which is why they can bring the suit on a class basis. Just a guess though.
11:37 here. The “restaurants” I’m talking about don’t use the IP of real restaurants. They are fake restaurants with fake menus that work with existing restaurants to knowingly supply the fake restaurant’s food. The restaurants are part of the scam.
F*ck Uber and all their bullshit. I deleted their app when they filed to do a ballot initiative to limit attorneys fees to 20% after costs. Funny, these big companies have no issue with how much they can pay their attorneys though.
Commentary: Cool.
High speed train is cool. Would I use it? Probably not. I think it is a little more than 2hrs by this train which ends in San Bernardino County. If I have business in So Cal., I need to drive to the station, go through security and the boarding process. At the other end, detrain, rent a car.
Far faster to fly to Orange, Long Beach or LA airports.
For visitors to Las Vegas, drive from Orange, LB, or LA to San Bernardino. That can be 90 minutes at peak traffic times. Then unload the car, board, security etc., spend 2 hrs+ on the train, detrain, etc. etc. And oh yeh. Reportedly, tickets will be around $200 one way per person.
I would rather drive.
SB County is a little misleading. SB covers everything from Riverside and City of SB (which are in the valley) all the way East to AZ Border (Lake Havasu) and Primm and North way past Barstow to Searles Lake. and Sandy Valley.
The station will be in Victorville, which is a solid hour away from SB proper and Riverside. Trying to navigate the high desert traffic and Cajon pass will suck like it always does. Reality is the wont save an hour, maybe.
Santa Ana or LAX for Business or Beach, if I am not driving it.
Which I am.
I think the current plan is run the track over the pass into Rancho Cucamonga.
If so, it is still an hour’s drive from almost everywhere in the LA basin, longer during rush hours.
The idea is that you would take high speed rail to Rancho Cucamonga, then normal trains to your destination in southern CA. Still think it is a stupid idea, but that is the idea
If your’e headed anywhere east of West Covina or so, Ontario airport is about a 40 minute hop from here. I don’t see myself taking a train to Victorville.
I would be very interested to hear from anybody from SB, OC or LA County and hearing their opinions. Because lets be honest. Its about their use, not ours.
Also, right down the middle of the median of I-15! WTF??
Right down the median
Yep. Mega tons of steel hurling down the track at 200 mph only feet away from car and truck traffic. Derailment.
What, me worry?
So they will start construction and tie up traffic even worse than it already is for a year or so, before running out of money and abandoning the project, leaving it to the taxpayer to clean up the mess. There, I just wrote the ending of the story for everyone.
OFF TOPIC
Most iconic theme song for a movie or TV series. Meaning you cannot hear this song without automatically equating it with this show or movie. Do not do “Friends”, we all know that one.
I will go first.
“Woke Up This Morning” — The Sopranos
Young Guns II – Blaze of Glory
Top Gun intro song as it rolls into Danger Zone
Beverly Hills 90210
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Married with Children
Happy Days. 🙂
Joe Cocker’s rendition of The Beatles’ ‘With a Little Help From My Friends’ – The Wonder Years
“Dun-Dun” — Law and Order
Beverly Hills Cop
I’m old – Gilligan’s Island, Beverly Hillbillies, Happy Days
In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins) Miami Vice
Not the theme song (although clearly closely associated with the show). Miami Vice Theme was a Jan Hammer song.
I do not think “Miami Vice” when I hear that song. You didnt understand the assignment.
You’re not the boss of me now – TMBG for Malcolm in the Middle.
Bosch – Can’t Let Go
Red Right Hand – Peaky Blinders
Bad Things – True Blood
I thought the train connected with other SoCal trains in Victorville? If this requires patrons to drive to Victorville, it will be a massive flop.
I appreciate all of the work that the EJDC is doing to clean up old filings. With that said, the return of appeal bonds to the LOSING parties on appeal shows that they are not really paying any attention.
What happened to Sue the Bar guy?
I’m sure he’s filing suit any day now.
Sue the Bar Guy is now DGAF Guy.
No sir. I am the DGAF guy and I am not the sue the bar guy.
What happened to the dude that was gonna sue China for Covid?
