I was really shocked at what I thought was the original finding that she would just remain suspended with pay through the end of her term. Now the issue is with a resignation I presume Baharav applies for the appointment.

I’m curious if anyone else will apply. Baharav makes sense since she’ll be there in January, but maybe someone else wants a short-term judicial position.

I love the way this industry obsesses over ultimately meaningless rankings.

Am Law is looking purely at revenue so I wouldn’t say it’s meaningless. It’s a relevant metric for firms. This isn’t like Vault Rankings which are basically “which firm do NY second years think is the most prestigious.”

I would say it’s pretty meaningless. Revenue doesn’t mean much if net profit is small or negative. There are potentially thousands of firms that are more efficient and profitable. Meaningless ranking.

The Fortune 500 is ranked based on revenue. You think every person who mentions that something is a Fortune 500 company is using a meaningless ranking? Revenue isn’t the end all be all but it’s one of the most standard ways of assessing a company. You’re free to also look at revenue per attorney and profits per partner (two other important and interesting metrics), but to say that revenue is meaningless is just silly.

Years and years ago, the younger lawyers at our firm all piled into a car one summer afternoon and drove out to ride the Buffalo Bill’s rollercoaster. Good memories.

OP here. If I told you the firm, you’d know we were. Think big black building downtown.

You work for Morgoth, Saruman & Sauron? I hear that building is tough to get into, like you can’t just walk in.

I was a law clerk for Nevada Supreme Court. We had our 8 hour Friday lunches in Gardnerville at Basque restaurant. Great fries and Picon Punch.

1,000 calls for family law is an insane number. sounds like we need more family law practitioners.

I would guess it’s more that there’s lots of people who need legal services that can’t really afford a lawyer.

WTH is happening in Reno? All our filings are getting database errors. You’d think the court would send out an alert that some attorneys can’t file for unknown reasons and/or actually fix the problem.

I guess the intentional failure to develop IT infrastructure to protect the Washoe market from evil Clark County practitioners isn’t paying off the way it used to.
