Looks like Ford deleted the tweet and picture. Did he not get confirmed?

Never mind. At first, I though the picture was of Boulware being sworn in, and it looked like it was taken inside a District Court courtroom. But he was actually sworn in at the Senate hearing. Yeah for him. Now he never has to be a member of the bar in Nevada.

Has any Nevada Federal judged ever before had such limited and tenuous ties to Nevada? I cannot think of one.

Actually, he grew up here and graduated from High School here. His father was a doctor here and his mother has been involved in community service here for over 30 years. He practiced in New York for awhile and here for the last six or so years. He is smart, has a great demeanor and has a lot of federal court experience.

Thanks for the biography your honor. It read like a fusion of a resume and dating profile.

I'll be looking forward to some stiff sentences being handed down to deserving criminals!

Is this an appropriate place to say "Atta boy" to my Gonzaga Bulldogs last night tearing up those little BYU kitties?

I surely hope you went to Gonzaga for undergrad and you haven't adopted them because you simply went to law school there. That would be embarrassing – both because you think going to law school somewhere makes that your team and because, well, Gonzaga law school.

Don't look for this guy to stay on the D. Nevada bench long. He'll do just enough time here to justify the next Democrat president sending him to the Ninth.

To replace who? Bybee and Rawlinson are all Nevada has. They're both young enough that they'll be around for awhile. They're both conservative enough that they probably won't step down when a preseident is in office that would pick and FPD (Rawlinson is a mixed bag, but certainly conservative on criminal issues). All he can hope for is that Nevada gets another judge spot, but we can get in line there. Every state is begging for more slots.

Re: Boulware: "'He’s not just naked from being in the court all the time,' Reid said." Does ANYONE know what the hell this is supposed to mean?

How about implementing a requirement that posters not be "Anonymous." Love how people are so comfortable hiding behind their computer screens. Step up to the plate, like Jordan Ross, and reveal your true identity if you are so comfortable demeaning others.

Also:

1. Removing anonymity would completely destroy this blog. Nobody would contribute the real information we are all seeking.
2. Jordan Ross is a legal recruiter, not an attorney. While I'm sure he is a great person, it is quite obvious he uses his true identity for marketing purposes.

There is nothing "real' let alone appropriate about misplaced hatred. If you don't have the kahonas to tell it to someone's face, then don't post it online without fear of retribution.

And if you look at Jordan Ross' background you will see he is also doing it because he has the highest of moral character.

We tried out Disqus last year which would have provided a means for measured anonymity, but people didn't like it. http://lasvegaslawblog.blogspot.com/2013/08/what-do-you-think-about-disqus.html

I don't know about the misplaced hatred garbage, but if you don't know what I mean when I say "real information" then you haven't been around this site for very long.

Like I said, I'm sure Jordan is great. However, to assume that the reason he posts with his full name (unlike nearly every other poster) is because of moral character rather than marketing advantages is disingenuous or naive at best. I'm starting to think that 11:26 and 12:10 is Mr. Ross' mom or something.

If God did not want me to be able to spew hatred anonymously, he would not have invented the internet. Hallelujah.

PS @12:09 — Interesting that you post anonymously when you call out those who post anonymously as lacking kahonas.
