TGIF!
It is Friday. That means probate day. Never heard the actual story of what happened with Brian Tanko and him declining/resigning from the Probate Commissioner seat. Since Telles got defeated in the election, maybe he will apply for it and really stick it to the Public Administrator's office.
Please provide details! We do lots of probate and this is the first I've heard of this. Do they have someone else as a backup or are just going to continue to have wait for the court's gross mismanagement, both financial and otherwise, of the entire probate department.
Oh, and we're literally 3 1/2 months behind now – that's how long it takes in between filing a motion and hearing said motion. It's really a fucking joke and there doesn't seem to be any remedy or solution, or worse, any TALK of a remedy or solution, in sight.
Sean Tanko, not Brian, right? And I hadn't heard he didn't take the job, the last release I saw said he was starting in June. Was he every sworn in?
4:51, this is 2:07. That's what I'm talking about; it's so "hush hush" despite the fact that they are so behind now.
It's now 4 1/2 months to a court hearing, unless you file paperwork to have the case moved over to the probate judge (instead of the probate commissioner). Items being filed now are not scheduled for hearings until the 1st week of December in regular Probate Court.
Sorry yes it was Sean Tanko who got appointed in March and promised that he could wind down his practice and take the bench by early June and then apparently never showed up. There was a posting about a month ago for hearing officers and a "Probate Commissioner." I was hopeful that we were adding and going to have 2 probate commissioners like we have 2 discovery commissioners but alas it appears that we do not even have 1 probate commissioner.
It seems as though current licensees, dispensaries and eventually, lounges could obtain "event" permits or licenses and cut vendor deals with the likes of Allegiant, T-Mobile, etc. without the concerns raised by the board being too unwieldy.
Any new news about Rob Telles? How is his bruised ego faring now that he has to share an office for the rest of his term with Rita, the woman who defeated him?
I have favored legalization of all drugs for a long time, but hot damn the smell of pot on the strip has driven my wife and I away from dinners on the strip. Gag.
The low-class people on the strip have driven my wife and I from dinners on the strip. Double gag.
Are we supposed to be ashamed we work hard and want to relax a couple hours before we go back to helping ungrateful, low life’s who do nothing to change their circumstances? Not all people for sure, but many.
I voted for legalized medical marijuana because I thought that if someone had a legitimate medical issue their doctor would write a prescription and they would fill it at a pharmacy. I was wrong. I was at the grocery store the other day and two women stumbled out of the car at 7:45 a.m. with a plume of marijuana smoke behind them. NOT OKAY. I regret my support of legalizing drugs….
The issues complained of here were totally foreseeable. I voted against it for these reasons. Have you been to Denver? Or read about it before voting?
Denver and legalized marijuana. Many residents in Colorado regret legalizing pot. But they have more restricitons than we do here and some counties and areas don't have it. I knew that medical marijuana was a prelude to full blown legalized pot. I am smelling it everywhere. It is so disconcerting to see drivers smoking in their car while driving. The smell is awful. It smells like a skunk. Just walking through a concert causes your clothes to stink like you smoked it yourself.
Never would've voted for pot legal in Nevada knowing what a con it is. No money going to education. Nancy Allf going to the front of the line to get a dispensary. Fuck that
A tip: for those who cannot get any response from DETER email the governor 5 or 6 times and you might get some action. That is what my client snd I did snd finally someone called us.
Who let the boomers loose on the blog? Weed does not smell that bad. The corner of Las Vegas Blvd/Spring Mountain has smelled like raw sewage since the Treasure Island was built. Downtown has always smelled like piss. Various corners of the strips have smelled like piss, sweaty tourists, and/or garbage forever and a day. Weed is no worse than alcohol. In fact, weed tends to be less of a problem than alcohol. Drunks get drunk, beat their wives, and kill people on the freeway. Potheads get fat on cheetos, relax on the couch, and nap a lot. You can't prove someone on a vape in their car is smoking weed unless you're actually in the car with them. They very easily could be vaping nicotine. Anyways, you should try some edibles. It's fun.
Who can forget the Drakkar Noir epidemic? Now that should be illegal.

For the best smell of puss and piss,go to the Four Queens or UMC. They are neck and neck for best of Las Vegas
