STARE DIRECTLY AT THE SUN, ASSHOLES
Damn it! Cloudy in Vegas today! I cannot see the eclipse!
"This position requires a graduate degree, preferably a J.D. . . ."
Are they implying it is possible to get hired without a J.D.? Well, I suppose a Boyd '13 drop-out might be qualified to teach at Boyd.
They are trying to cut off the hundreds of PhDs who apply to everything.
Boyd should be slashing enrollment and faculty. Admitting progressively less-qualified applicants and dumbing-down the curriculum and bar exam is not a sustain plan.
Why is UNLV hiring two law professors while they're lowering admission standards to keep enrollment up? Heaven forbid a public entity shrink to meet public needs. No, sorry, growth is the only answer.
Am I missing where they indicate the subject the professor would be expected to teach?
I had the same question.
Um, LAW, duh
Looks like its writing.
Power out at the federal court. Hearings are proceeding, but no telephonic appearances, no recording, and only limited light.
Anybody else having difficulty getting on e-file for 8th Judicial District Court?
I'm not.
I am efiling fine but CANNOT access Odyssey right now, maddening.
I just used Attorney Portal to check on the status of Alexis Plunkett's case. Looks like she filed a habeus petition, resulting in the State explaining in good detail their theory of the criminal conduct, which pretty much mirrors the conclusion drawn by commentors on this blog: aiding & abetting will get you charged.
what is the pay range for professors at Boyd anyway? And what about the two advertised positions?
From obscene to outrageous.

they lost my support when they hired Harry Reid as a law prof emeritus
Me, too.
I'm a Republican and I dislike Reid, but I think he was a good hire in terms of raising the school's profile. Reid is one of the most influential politicians in Nevada's history. I see no reason why the school wouldn't want to tap into that while they can.
Pass on the opportunity to bring in Harry Reid?
Get over your partisan self. He was the United States senate majority leader and expert parliamentarian, who still enjoys deep connections in Washington. It would stupid of the law school to pass up that opportunity.
