Greenberg Traurig was hired to represent Nevadans for Background Checks and is seeking public records about why the ballot measure is being blocked from being implemented as law. [RJ]
Jacob Hafter shared an article on Facebook last week and commented about he is happy that the State of Nevada and the State Bar are not the only anti-semitic state and court system. [Facebook-login required]
It looks like development may happen on at least part of the Badlands golf course. [RJ]
Should the DMV automatically register people to vote? [TNI]
@RileySnyder reports, “With high caseload in state Court of Appeals, CJ James Hardesty says court will likely ask #nvleg for another panel of 3 judges in 2019″
The Reid machine loves motor voter laws. Register as many illegals as you can, and then send the buses to round them up on election day. Good old fashioned voter fraud. The dems have been doing this since Tammany Hall days. No one can compete with them in the areas of election stealing and corruption.
Repeating the lie doesn't make it true, no matter how well it worked for the Nazis. Trump supporters asking for proof is like a…I dunno…there isn't even a decent analogy. They are just asshole liars, the lot of them.
Name calling is definitely a democrat/liberal tactic. Being a loving Christian, I can't blame you. No facts, no arguments and absolutely no logic, so what's left, right? Here's to you, sweetie.
Is he out of his f****** mind? How about you spend more time actually doing your job and less time trying to get more people to do your job? Oh and he is not "CJ" anywhere except in his own mind.
Since September 15th, 2016, or in the last 5 months, the Nevada Supreme Court has published 21 Advance Opinions, or approximately 4.2 opinions a month or 0.6 opinions per Justice per month. Perhaps the backlog is due to the fact that you are simply not doing your job as a Court.
They do not require proof of citizenship, just proof of residency. Now illegals get IDs–driver authorization cards or licenses. Once you have a license you have access to everything. The form merely asks "are you a citizen and authorized to vote" or something like that as I recall.
Your basis for that statement is…? Could just as well say that if ALL eligible people (age 18-120), not just union workers and latinos, registered and voted, the Democratic party would be screwed.
Only because they were in power following the decennial census. Look back a little longer, and you'll find Democrats doing the exact damn thing. It's not a political party thing. It's a "protect-the-hell-out-of-the-incumbents" thing.
2:14 PM, supporting an immigration system that profits by allowing undocumented immigrants to clean hotel rooms for 12-15 hours a day for $50 a day. You should be proud.
I disagree. Based on Trump's campaign, it appears that Trump supports only documented immigrants living and working in the United States, thus resulting in those documented immigrants earning at least minimum wage (whether that is a livable wage is a question for another debate). A documented immigrant has bargaining power in the free market because they have the papers necessary to get (most) jobs. On the other hand, keeping undocumented persons in this country results in the tolerance of cheap labor and indentured servitude because those persons have zero mobility.
When will Jacob Hafter learn to keep his mouth shut? He's already been suspended for 6 months for calling Judge Vega an anti-Semite. Now he's calling the entire State Bar anti-Semites.
Absolutely. In fact we all just need to keep our mouths shut and let the State Bar roll right over us and do whatever the f**k it wishes because it has shown itself to be such a bastion of efficiency and propriety.
He may well be a dick, but he has an absolute right to express his opinion. Criticizing Vega on Facebook while the trial was still going was over the line for other reasons, but otherwise I don't think that the State Bar or any member of the judiciary should be above public criticism from a member of the bar, whether from a dick or from one the esteemed non-dicks who frequent this blog and say all kind of shit under the cloak of supposed anonymity (at least until someone serves a subpoena).
Dick or no dick, I agree that we all have the right to express our opinions. But expressing opinions is far, far different than name calling. Even my 9 year old son knows that difference.
Oh wow! The State Bar's Answering Brief is SCATHING! I like how their initial recommendation was 6 months and 1 day suspension, but now feel 1 year would be appropriate. Yikes.
@9:06: I am not disappointed at all. Written in first person. Very personal against Janeen Isaacson. But submitted immediately to get the case to Screening as soon as possible. Classic Hafter. BTW: Hafter is wrong that (a) Janeen is a government employee and (b) she never owned her own firm. Hafter is the Trump of our State Bar. Just shoot from the hip.
Just read these two briefs. I have no personal stake in any of this, never met or dealt with Hafter before. But two adages come to mind:
1. "…fool for a client."
2. "…stop digging."
What the NVSC and the NVCA need is funding to hire additional clerks, not a new panel of judges. Clerks write the majority of the opinions, or at least substantially so. This much less costly change would grease the wheels of justice more than anything. Give each justice 3 clerks, one permanent and two that rotate.

Where is your evidence? Turn off the Fox News, put a hand on each cheek, and pull your head out of your anus. Voter fraud is a Republican wet dream.
I find this this convincing.
Turn off CNN. Fake news. The left has created an Orwellian nightmare and the way out is to stop accepting lies as truth.
Repeating the lie doesn't make it true, no matter how well it worked for the Nazis. Trump supporters asking for proof is like a…I dunno…there isn't even a decent analogy. They are just asshole liars, the lot of them.
Anyone who cites Breitbart as a source for anything is an idiot of the purest form. Here is looking at you, 3:36pm
Name calling is definitely a democrat/liberal tactic. Being a loving Christian, I can't blame you. No facts, no arguments and absolutely no logic, so what's left, right? Here's to you, sweetie.
4:10, I am male, but thanks for making your sexism known. You must be a born again.
It is you who has unmasked yourself. A male can be a sweetie.
Is Judge Hardesty high?
Is he out of his f****** mind? How about you spend more time actually doing your job and less time trying to get more people to do your job? Oh and he is not "CJ" anywhere except in his own mind.

…And you're committing a felony by submitting fraudulent information on that form. We have laws in place to punish those who abuse the DMV.
Voter fraud…such a dumb non-issue. The people who push that narrative in public are all embarrassingly devoid of factual support.
10:24 – same time frame in 2015 yielded 6 Advanced Opinions. From July 2015-February 2016 (end of month) 13.
9:58 You are spot on. Motor voter laws are nothing more than forced registration drives for the Democratic party.
Republicans only hate these laws because, if all eligible people registered and voted, they'd always lose.
Your basis for that statement is…? Could just as well say that if ALL eligible people (age 18-120), not just union workers and latinos, registered and voted, the Democratic party would be screwed.
Which is why the Republicans have spent the last decade+ gerrymandering the shit out of the country.
Only because they were in power following the decennial census. Look back a little longer, and you'll find Democrats doing the exact damn thing. It's not a political party thing. It's a "protect-the-hell-out-of-the-incumbents" thing.
No, not the exact same thing. Not even close.
And if it benefited the right, it would be compulsory.
I love how these Trump trolls keep yelling out "voter fraud" with no evidence of such going on..specially in favor of Dems over Repubs..
I love how these Anti-Trump trolls keep yelling out "the sky is falling" with no evidence of such going on.
1:56, Flynn and Bannon. You should be proud.

3:09, you are an idiot. Trump is not in support of immigrants making a liveable wage. Not even related to 2:14's post.
I disagree. Hafter fired off his Reply brief in about 1.1 nanoseconds after the Answering brief hit. Quite disappointing though.
No hashtags?

Agreed. But this no decisions for days/no published opinions for weeks thing is ridiculous.
