The Holiday Party Post

  • Law

What’s your firm doing for the annual holiday party this year? Did they forego the fancy party to pad your bonus or did they book a firm cruise? Is it dinner and a show or merely ugly sweaters and a potluck lunch? Any classic firm party faux pas you want to share?

Whole office is going to Sage at Aria. Just dinner. Probably no show lest one of the partners gets lit (again)

We are having a pot luck at our group leader's house (Again) with a stupid steal the christmas gift game. I believe they get a stipend and by having a potluck at his house, he pockets the extra.

No party this year, but the alternative would be an awkward night at the partner's house, so I got that going for me.

New topic – Our local papers do a decent job of reporting criminal trial verdicts. But for civil trials, unless something comes in at half a billion dollars, we rarely get anything from the local rags. Is anyone currently blogging about the local civil trial scene? Or is there some off-brand periodical where details about local civil trials are reported on a real-time basis? If not, this blog would certainly be an appropriate to discuss such things.

Our office is just having a potluck lunch on Christmas Eve, which not only is unexciting, but doesn't alleviate my disappointment that they're having us work on Christmas Eve! They are always stingy like that!
