Watched the Netflix Documentary:
"Untold: The Girlfriend That Didn't Exist"
this weekend.
Very well done, intriguing story and fun to watch. Enjoy! If you haven't already.
Agreed – totally worth the invested time. I remember the story; this added some much though (and provided a really interesting set of facts about what Dead Spin was actually trying to do)
Agreed. If true, the Deadspin expose of ESPN, et al. was epic. Manti Teo was the naive victim of both the Catfish, the press and the ruthlessness of the internet.
Teen who drowned the dog, should be locked up for life. Clearly a serial killer/mass shooter waiting to happen.
Objectively speaking, I am not sure that Life is the appropriate punishment.
While truly disturbing, this isn't the Minority Report and you can say for sure what is the right punishment. Tone down the hyperbole and let's return to sanity. Save that crap for the jury.
Not enough facts to condemn the kid yet, although I will say when I was a kid we always cleaned up after the fact. I hope he learned his lesson.
OP here. The people disagreeing with me are the same people that cry out "Why didn't anyone do something?" after a mass shooting, when the shooter was younger and did things like this.
Cruelty to animals is a well-known precursor to things that are far worse. Real Jeffrey Dahmer and Ed Gein stuff.
@542
Mike drop.
Old Testament here. Eye for an eye. Waterboard the punk twice a week for a month.
As for murders, yes carry out the death penalty sentence or repeal the statute, but stop wringing your hands over it..
Pro bono should not mandatory and no one should be compelled to do it for free. If they want to make it seem like our profession is some special thing that has extra special duties, then there need to be something else in it for us. Also, 13th amendment much?
We lost that battle when the courts recognized a man can be forced to pay for kids he doesn't want.
It’s not mandatory. It is very heavily pushed and you are frowned upon and shamed if you don’t do it, but it’s not actually mandatory.
If you don't want children, I suggest abstinence.
2:30 he may not “want” the child but if he created it, he bought it. Let me guess: are you also anti-anortion?
7:45 here – no. I'm very pro choice. I was being sarcastic. I agree w you.
@8:52 I re-read your comment and realized you were not referring to my comment. Haha. Anyways, I agree with you regardless.
For all the talk of Jan 6 being a coup, Biden's loan forgiveness is the real coup.
I’m not a fan of the loan forgiveness thing, but how is the loan forgiveness a coup?
You keep using that word….
From left-wing Washington Post:
While loan forgiveness won’t put cash in borrowers’ pockets, it still risks fueling inflation by encouraging consumers to spend money they would otherwise have put toward paying off their debts. And wiping out debt now will only encourage students to take out still-bigger loans in the future, reducing incentives for colleges to hold down tuition costs — thus, in all likelihood, making higher education even less accessible for the middle class.
That's an idiotic statement.
What is idiotic about it?
Instead of paying off debt, consumers will pay for goods and services (i.e., literally the economy) but this is bad because buying things causes inflation?
And forgiving debt encourages students to take out bigger loans in the future – maybe the people handing out these loans could also do something about that too!
The real problem is that there is no oversight as to the reasonableness of tuition. University presidents all try to build empires in terms of capital expenditures, sports, and degrees in basket weaving. Federal comparison of tuitions, make it competitive, set limits on loans.
As to "loan forgiveness". There is no such thing, money has been borrowed and paid, Biden's plan only transfer debt from the individual debtor to taxpayers. A better, "fairer" approach is to allow student loan discharge in a Ch 13 bankruptcy.
Yes, something that contributes to inflation right now is actually bad. Perhaps you haven’t read the news lately. And it does Aldo further fuel inflation in college costs. Rather than being idiotic, I’d say 3:58 is right on the money, so to speak.
Did anyone see this? https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/alex-jones-lawyer-takes-fifth-sandy-hook-hearing-rcna44932?cid=sm_npd_nn_tw_ma In addition to claiming the fifth, one of the attorneys turned over documents without looking at them!
