The Annual Family Law Conference scheduled for March has been canceled. [NV Courts]
Proposed ballot measures seek ballot id and repeal of broad mail-in voting. [TNI]
Family of Utah man who died in custody, represented by Brent Bryson, sues Metro. [RJ]
Life is Beautiful CEO withdraws creditor claim in Tony Hsieh probate case. [RJ]
As Apollo makes license bid for Sands, drama in the background involves Frank Schreck. No word on if Gaming Control Board Chair Brin Gibson, who used to work at Schreck’s firm, will abstain. [Nevada Current]
Re wreck, absolutely heartbreaking, it reminds me that Nevada has suffered many disasters: Carole Lombard big actress killed in 40s, the woman that drove over those people in Reno, 1980 MGM Fire, Pepcon in 80s, the plane flight to Disneyland that killed several in maybe the 80s or 90s, woman that mowed down people on the strip, of course the October 1, 2017 massacre, now this wreck (my deepest apologies as I am sure I missed several)

Shouldn't "Conference" be replaced with "Bacchanal?"

Yesterday there was a post about the driver who was speeding at 100 mph, blew a red light and killed 9 people. In today's RJ there was an article that the driver had five speeding tickets and a prior criminal history. Each speeding ticket was treated as a first offense with a fine and no consequence. Shame on the system that condones such behavior. Shame on the Legislature for making tickets (moving violations) infractions with no consequence.
treated as a first offense? Are traffic tickets like DVs or DUIs where discipline gets progressively worse? If so I didn't realize that.

Anyone know if a will written in another language is treated the same as one in English? Person lived here, property here, but wrote a will in Spanish. I presume you would just lodge it and move probate along as you would anything else, but I have never dealt with this before.
NRS 136.210 provides your answer. You need a translation, and the court lodges the translation, not the original. It's an additional step, but not an insurmountable one.
I had a Norwegian will once and used Tomedes to get the translation.

Are attorney sessions for LV Justice Court still a thing? Can someone please point me in the direction of how to handle these now? Also, how about for Muni court? Thanks in advance!
Thanks! I did send an email there and got this automatic response:
Las Vegas Justice Court’s online traffic citation resolution platform, Matterhorn, is now available for use on the LVJC website. The individual cited for traffic violation(s) is able to access and enter a plea of any type; Guilty, No Contest or Not Guilty using the Matterhorn platform.
We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage the individual cited to access their plea options by going to LVJC’s public access website:
After the traffic case is accessed using the above website, clicking on the Resolve a citation and/or make a payment button located on the top right of the screen will direct the individual to the Matterhorn website to register.
Attorney sessions like what you are used to, are not a thing anymore. They moved to the online platform where the person cited can create an account and resolve the ticket themselves, based upon a preapproved "standard" offer from the DA. If you want to talk to the DA about the ticket or are not in agreement with the offer, Defendant can plead not guilty and request a trial.
Candidly, I'm not sure what they are doing with traffic trials right now. And I know several attorneys have taken issue with not being able to easily resolve tickets for multiple clients (each Defendant requires their own account), so I'm not sure what, if anything, the court is going to do with that.
From what I've seen, most Defendants are happy with the standard offer (illegal parking after you pay a fine), so attorneys can help them set up their accounts and walk them through the process, assuming you have a sufficiently tech proficient client. But if there are extenuating circumstances, they might need to plead not guilty and request a trial.

Yes, but you must provide a translation. Fairly common.
Considering the US does not have an official language I'd say you're fine.

If it wasn't clear, these questions relate to traffic citations, thanks!
