Thanksgiving 2020

  • Law

If you haven’t seen it already, you should know that the Eighth Judicial District Court issued Administrative Order 20-24 yesterday which postpones all currently scheduled jury trials and makes appearance by alternate means mandatory until January 11.

We wish each of you a very happy Thanksgiving. We know this year is unlike any other in so many ways, but like every other year, we still care about you and want you to have a safe and happy holiday. Be smart, don’t drink and drive, and if you need help, reach out!

So Craig Mueller will be appearing before Trevor Atkin at 11 a.m. today to argue on behalf of Daniel Rodimer.

Oh to be a fly on the wall when the meeting of all these candidates was going on and they are like eureka, we should hire Craig Mueller. He has the expertise we need to win complicated election matters.

He's causing more brain bleeds, though this time it's from these mindmelting court arguments.

My feelings exactly! Either they chose Mueller because he was a Republican or he was really cheap. He clearly has no expertise in the area.

Remote appearances
I like it much better than having schlep down to the RJC, park, walk, wait 20 minutes for an elevators and then sit for up 90 minutes in a court room.
Video Conf has my vote.
(of course, those of you still billing hourly don't mind it)

Here is one thing I do not like about remote appearances: much harder to juggle multiple hearings. In person, you can check into multiple departments and let them know where you are going to be. Online you cannot be logged into 2 Bluejeans at the same time.

You can, you just need two devices. Most of us have a phone and desktop computer capable of logging in. If you have a laptop and/or iPad, you have even more options. Though I’d certainly let the clerk know you have multiple hearings so you don’t get called for both at the same time.

Trump campaign is claiming they have an evidentiary hearing in a Nevada case, with 15 depositions allowed. No one else is saying this, and the only case I could find similar to that is Law v. Whitmer, 20 OC 00163 1B in the First District. Carson City being the one-horse town that it is, there is no online access to cases. Anyone have any credible information?

Flynn is being rewarded for keeping his mouth shut. He started to cooperate and then stopped which was not going to go over well in sentencing. Trump needed him to clam up .

Uh, Flynn did nothing wrong. He was prosecuted as part of the larger conspiracy nicely outlined in the Amazon Prime documentary "The Plot Against the President."

He was collateral damage, and the hit was authorized by Biden. fyi

Yeah, check the "Trivia" part of that so-called documentary: "Not a single 'fact' in this 'documentary' could actually be verified."

All Flynn had to do to avoid criminal violations was 1. Don't undermine the current administration and 2. Don't lie about your activities to the FBI.

It wasn't a lie as in "I said I was with my mother on Thanksgiving 2010, when in fact I was with her in 2009 and 2011, but left early in 2010 and forgot and it's been a decade." It was a lie as in "I had a telephone conversation with a Russian Ambassador 2 weeks ago in which I said something that I'm now claiming I didn't say, even all conversations with the Russians were recorded and reviewed as a matter of course by NSA personnel, and so they have me on tape saying things I'm now repeatedly and adamantly refusing I said (because I'm in the shitter if I admit it)."

You are peddling lies. The FBI and DOJ have since admitted the original 302 was never produced because it unambiguously reflected the interviewing agents' opnions that Flynn did not lie. His take-down was always fabricated, with the knowledge and consent of Biden and Obama.

Nice try. I'm sure the Biden team has a spot for you.

8:43,

You're so good at making up stories, you'd have an excellent shot at getting hired by the Trump legal team.

When I test to see if someone is well informed enough to merit debating, one of the questions I ask is if they person believes Trump praised Neo-Nazis at Charlottesville. The other I ask what the person knows about Flynn.

Here's a reasonably neutral little questioning of the narrative about the election the D's are trying to steal with epic, unprecedented, and widespread fraud.

No matter how you feel about the OrangeMonster who lowered taxes, cut regulations, negotiated peace deals, released record numbers of minority low-level criminal defendants, and kept us out of endless overseas bloodshed, the prospect of stealing an election on this scale should scare the partisanship right out of you.
