Yup, its that time of the year again!  I remember it like it was yesterday, and I bet a lot of you do too.  So, lets help out the next generation of bar-takers, and drop some of that, “geez, I wish someone would have told me that 10 days before I took the bar exam” knowledge on them.

On a side note – although it may seem like it, we are not alone: here are the updated blog viewership stats:

All I really remember from the bar exams was that annoying/terror-inciting ritual of talking with fellow examinees afterwards where they talked about how they had dealt extensively with issues I never saw. My advice: ditch those people right away and avoid the second guessing completely

I don't know anything about blogging but these seem like respectiable enough numbers of views for a fledgling blog. I don't expect the folks from Taiwan to post comments (who ARE these people??) but I think the locals need to start sharing here. I still don't know who the BK hottie is, and where Elle really went, and I'm kind of worried about double kickstands guy.

I miss the days when the bar was only given once a year. Seriously, practicing law in Las Vegas was a lot more fun before the days of Boyd and the February bar exam.

I'm a 2L at Boyd and am applying to Wilson Elser for a SA position next year. Anybody know how much they pay? I heard it was $65,000 but didn't believe it.

Wilson Elser is doing OCI? Is LSC or Jones Vargas?

Just curious – why did you take down my post that asked whether anyone had stories of hijinks from the Meet the Judges Mixer?

Hey July 18, 2011 9:58 AM,

I'm not sure what happened, but I didn't take your post down. In fact, I never saw one like that.

For what its worth, I have only ever removed one post from this blog- it was the one from last week with the link to hotels in Brazil.

Please (re)post, it sounds like an interesting topic!

I'm a different person than 9:58 and one of my posts went missing also (a few days ago). It makes me wonder what/who I'm missing on this blog. I don't know anything about weblogs, but it bears looking into.

Thanks for the heads-up. I just looked in my "spam" filter, and found a previously published comment hanging out there somehow. Obviously, it wasn't spam, so I manually pulled it out. I hope that was the comment you were referring to.

I'll look into disabling that feature, because the last thing I want to do is have the readers/commentors think that I am censoring them. While I generally thought Elle's blog was great, one of my criticisms was that commentors had to wonder and worry about whether their comments would be taken down. I still stand by the fact that the only comment that I read and decided to remove, was the one advertising hotels. I am an acvocTe of free speech, and any comments short of defamation (in my opinion), or revealing my identity will not be censored- I promise.

Thanks for reading and commenting!

Apparently, "missing comments" are a known problem with blogger.. Here is what the blogger help forum recently posted to help fix the issue:

Comments Troubleshooting Guide

1) If your users are Firefox users they need to make sure they have 3rd Party Cookies installed.

2) If you have word verification turned on. People with popup blockers will probably have problems with this. It's advised to turn this off as Blogger now has Spam Filtering

3) If you make your comments Full Screen instead of Embedded/Popup then more people will be able to comment on your blog.

4) Check your Comments Tab to see if they are getting Moderated. Pay particular attention to the Spam section.

5) One thing to try, but backup your blog template first, is to try resetting all your defaults. see screenshot. You do this from the Design, Edit HTML screen.

6) If they are having trouble logging in get them to UNTICK the remember me checkbox

This fixes about 99% of issues with the comments form/links not working

I'll do the stuff from my end to hopefully fix the problem.

Go to the bar office and check out old exam answers and the scores. some of the stuff bar/bri says about what the graders are looking for is total crap.
