Henderson police released the 911 call and redacted report into the death of Lisa Willardson, including some newly disclosed details about how Suspended Judge Steven Jones found her and waited 35 minutes before calling 911. You can listen to a recording of the call obtained by the RJ here. Henderson police found no signs of foul play and Willardson’s death was ruled an accidental overdose. [RJ]
Jury selection is under way in a trial related to a $9 million personal injury suit brought by comedian George Wallace against the Bellagio. Wallace is represented by Dominic Gentile and Bellagio is represented by Paul Haire. Judge Ron Israel, who drew two challengers in a bid to retain his seat on the bench, is presiding over the trial. [Las Vegas Sun]
The Nevada Gaming Commission approved the $500,000 fine to Mandalay Bay relating to employees of the Foundation Room selling drugs and sex. No word on whether any criminal charges will happen–anyone know whether they are forthcoming or does the fine absolve the employees? [RJ]
I imagine finding the body of your dead girlfriend is traumatic, but the call to 911 is a little odd. He refers to her as Ms. Willardson and says she is 40 or 41 (she was 45).

Serious question: How do the authorities distinguish between an accidental overdose and a suicide?
Maybe a judgment call by the coroner based on 5-6 pills as opposed to 100?

Does anyone find the whole thing incredibly strange, almost like a cover-up? How convenient that he admitted to going there on Christmas (because he knew the cameras would show that)–BUT he didn't enter despite the fact that all the lights were out, her cars were there, and she wasn't answering calls? Seems like the perfect excuse to explain why he was there…and then all the text messages? Sweetie, beautiful, baby…I went to your house but you weren't home! The entire thing is so suspicious. If he weren't a (former) judge I'm sure this would warrant a more thorough investigation.
7:38 am. reread the story detailing the police report. He was already back from Utah and went over to her house on Christmas night, meaning he was in town when she died.
Don't normal people go to great lengths to see their "girlfriend" on Christmas Day? A judge has to call his daughter to find out to call 911 when someone is dead? Who speaks of their girlfriend as Ms.? I'm sorry but I buy this about as much as I buy the HOA lawyer "suicides".
Well, it happened in Henderson. We're lucky the detectives there correctly identified her. To expect Henderson PD detectives to do more is asking too much.
I saw some of her posts to the LVRJ in the 24-48 hours b4 her death was announced and they seemed different from her earlier ones. She was a constant commenter but these had weird phrasing and seemed unhinged. There is a field of study about language composition as an identifier of authorship. The police should have looked at her earlier posts and those right before her death. I didn't know her or pay that much attention to this but these last ones seemed quite different.
How did he know she was cold dead? He's not a doctor, but he pronounced his girlfriend dead and told 911 that she's dead. The whole scenario is fishy to me. That 911 call did not sound like a man who just seen a dead body. Most people would be hysterical and freaked out. He's an attorney. He's a Judge and attorney, so he reads cases all day long about murder. How did he know that she overdosed? Maybe she did it on purpose. Maybe she meant to commit suicide. How clever of him tell the 911 operator that her overdose was an accident. HOW DID HE KNOW THAT SHE DIED OF A DRUG OVERDOSE? MAYBE SHE HAD A HEART ATTACK! OR MAYBE SHE HAD A STROKE OR MAYBE SHE HAD A BRAIN ANURISM! HE TOLD 911 HOW SHE DIED AND HE'S NOT EVEN A DOCTOR!! I think he did it. An overdose would not show foul play. When heroin addicts are murdered by other heroin addicts, they inject them with an overdose with heroin to make it look like he overdosed, but really he was murdered. I think the same thing happened with Lisa Williardson. I think her boyfriend Steven Jones murdered her by figuring out how to give her an overdose of her own prescription drugs. I could be wrong, so if I am wrong, then I'm sorry for blaming you, but the evidence looks fishy. As the other poster said, "Why did does he call his girlfriend Ms. Williardson"? That's odd. He should of called her his girlfriend or by her first name when speaking the 911 call. He didn't think of her as his girlfriend because she was dead. He thinks of her as a dead body. He's a psycho. Most guys think of their deceased girlfriends as their deceased girlfriends. They don't call her by her last name. THAT'S FISHY. I don't think she accidently overdosed. I think he set up the scene and made it look like an accidental overdose. HOW DID HE KNOW SHE ACCIDENTLY OVERDOSED? MAYBE SHE DIED OF A BRAIN ANURISM OR HEART ATTACK FROM ALL THE STRESS SHE WAS UNDER LATELY!! HE DOESN'T KNOW. THE ONLY WAY HE KNEW SHE ACCIDENTLY OVERDOSED IS IF HE CAUSED HER TO OVERDOSE BY SOMEHOW GETTING THE PILLS INSIDE HER, MAYBE BY DISSOLVING THEM IN A DRINK SUCH AS JUICE OR ALCOHOL. I DON'T KNOW, BUT I DON'T but I don't think it was an accident. Forgive me Steven Jones if I'm wrong, the scenario is fishy. I seem to recall there were tweets and RJ comments from Lisa during that time as well.
10:33 a.m., just an FYI, he's not a former judge and he was out of the state when she died.
