So happy the Democratic Convention (sponsored by the MSNBC – CNN political action committees) is over. Props to DNC for keeping sleepy Joe in the basement for most of the time and then dusting him off, administering adrenaline and letting him read a canned speech.

On another front, whatever happened to efforts to recall King Sisolak?

@1:03 PM. Canned speech…. at least he can read a teleprompter unlike your Fuhrer. Here is a fun drinking game – take a shot every time Trump repeats phrases like "strongly," "never before," "tremendous," and "strong/strongly". You probably would get alcohol poisoning.

Re: Sleepy Joe, it was reported that he practiced the speech several hundred times, it was the shortest in decades, and they had to keep the average sentences to around 5. And he still messed some parts up and changed the meanings to the opposite, like when he said (paraphrasing) there is nothing we can get done together. Have no idea if any of above is true but it was reported. For my position, I'll take a known Trump over senility even though Trump is far from perfect, he is better than Kamala who will become the President as sure as ducks like junebugs.

Right. Because it's such a bad thing for a candidate to have actually read a speech before giving it.

Trump can't be bothered to read speeches. Trump can barely be bothered to read at all. When he does read from speeches, he makes so many mistakes that it's absurd. He frequently injects his own off-the-cuff idiocies to cover for the fact that he doesn't understand the words that are in front of him. When he does make an error, he tries to pass it off as intentional. One of his favorite go-to strategies is to throw in an "and" in order to continue, even if the next phrase makes no sense in connection with the prior one. Example: "And we see it in the mothers and the fathers who get up at the crack of dawn; they work two jobs and sometimes three jobs. They sacrifice every day for the furniture and — future of their children." (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-2017-values-voter-summit/)

His vocabulary is astoundingly small for a old man. He doesn't think. He cheats at everything he does. He doesn't belong in the White House, and certainly not anywhere near classified information. If you are for national security, you don't vote Trump. If you're supportive of the military, you don't vote for the man who took money from schools for military dependents for his idiotic wall. If you're for border security, you don't even vote Trump. If you're for fiscal responsibility, you don't vote Trump. If you're for a more peaceful world, you don't vote Trump. If you're for America as a leader on the world stage, you don't vote Trump.

Don't vote for the guy who worked hard to get his speech right! Clearly he's terrible!

Instead, vote for this stable genius:

"Look, having nuclear—my uncle was a great professor and scientist and engineer, Dr. John Trump at MIT; good genes, very good genes, OK, very smart, the Wharton School of Finance, very good, very smart—you know, if you’re a conservative Republican, if I were a liberal, if, like, OK, if I ran as a liberal Democrat, they would say I'm one of the smartest people anywhere in the world—it’s true!—but when you're a conservative Republican they try—oh, do they do a number—that’s why I always start off: Went to Wharton, was a good student, went there, went there, did this, built a fortune—you know I have to give my like credentials all the time, because we’re a little disadvantaged—but you look at the nuclear deal, the thing that really bothers me—it would have been so easy, and it’s not as important as these lives are (nuclear is powerful; my uncle explained that to me many, many years ago, the power and that was 35 years ago; he would explain the power of what's going to happen and he was right—who would have thought?), but when you look at what's going on with the four prisoners—now it used to be three, now it’s four—but when it was three and even now, I would have said it's all in the messenger; fellas, and it is fellas because, you know, they don't, they haven’t figured that the women are smarter right now than the men, so, you know, it’s gonna take them about another 150 years—but the Persians are great negotiators, the Iranians are great negotiators, so, and they, they just killed, they just killed us."

Most people (including people here) miss the mark. You are not voting for a person. You are voting for a stand-in for a set of policies. Too many people vote on the basis of whether they "like" or "don't like" the candidate as a person. That is not the issue. The issue is the set of policies the candidate represents and will advocate for.

Yes and no, 12:16. That may be how YOU view this election. But many of us think policy differences are the second level of analysis, the basis on which to distinguish between minimally competent and minimally ethical candidates. At the convention last week, Gov. Kasich spoke for a lot of Republicans and former-Republican Independents (e.g., George Will) to say Trump fails that initial, qualifying standard. Even those Republicans see him as such a danger to the Republic–a Madisonian nightmare–that he must be removed even at the cost of policy veering to the left for four years.

Perhaps you don't see Trump that way. So, for you, this election is simply a choice between policy platforms. Fine, agree to disagree. But we do get it.

12:16, that is usually the case. But I 100% disagree that we're voting for a "stand-in for a set of policies" in this election. What policies? The RNC platform is nonexistent other than supporting what Trump happens to do in the future. He is entirely undisciplined and can't stick to a coherent policy agenda other than pissing off western allies. So no, a vote for Trump is not a vote for a stand-in for a set of policies. It's a vote for a wild card who has no idea what he's doing or what he'll do next.

Re Trump's statement that Senator John McCain was not a war hero: First, if you spend five years in a POW camp you're pretty much a bad ass war hero. Second, to spend five years in a POW camp you have to "be in the game." Third, guess which five time draft dodging POtuS wasn't in the game? Fourth, how can any of these trumpfoons think POtuS has any honor?

@3:54 everything you said plus as the son of an admiral, McCain was repeatedly offered release by the North Vietnamese and he refused to abandon his brothers in arms. Somehow the GOP bills themselves as supporters of the military and yet they tolerate this attack on McCain. Despicable. I'm VERY liberal and I probably would never have voted for McCain, but he's absolutely an American hero. trump is a filthy grifter and a criminal. He doesn't hold a candle to McCain.

The effort to paint Biden as senile is fascinating. It strikes me as a huge gamble. First, it sets expectations so low that it may be easier for Biden to reassure people of his faculties. Second, sleepiness is NOT dangerous in most circumstances, and people may be in the mood for slow and steady. Third, it’s a tacit compliment that Biden’s accomplishments, character, integrity, leadership skills, and intended direction are not vulnerabilities.

Fourth, and most risky, it makes those pushing it look like jerks, playing directly into Biden’s narrative about a morally bankrupt GOP. That nastiness is the primary impetus for moderate Republicans like Kasich, Powell, the Lincoln Project, etc., backing Biden, and why Biden is betting huge that most Americans want a culture of old-school decency.

Place your bets.

Biden's accomplishments? 40 + years in DC. What did he accomplish?

Maybe you're thinking of his school accomplishments:

1) graduating 76th out of 85 students in his law school class or as sleepy, creepy, senile joe puts it in the "top half"

2) obtaining 3 degrees– (Mr. Biden said: “I graduated from the University of Delaware with a double major in history and political science. My reference to degrees at the Claremont event was intended to refer to these majors – I said ‘three’ and should have said ‘two.'” Mr. Biden received a single B.A. in history and political science.)

3) Being the outstanding student of the political science department and getting full ride academic scholarships? He wasn't the "outstanding student" and he lied when he said he went to school on full academic scholarship.

Maybe your thinking of his crack-head son's new found wealth and surrendering our manufacturing base to China are accomplishments.

3:44PM- put the pipe down.

Biden has been in politics for over 40 years. Please name one major accomplishment biden has?
Unrelated subject no wonder Nevada is 48th on the list of states for quality education.
Why are the school zones in effect on monday?
The two "scholars" sisolak/school Superintendent must realize that the Clark County school division students are at home not in school.

Again to confirm nevada 48th in the nation for school quality and academia…
Abbott and Costello act by them.

Greatest POTUS ever, and the best the left can do is attack his "character." Be honest, push the agenda instead. Higher taxes. Burdensome regulations. Unreliable and very expensive energy. Trannies in libraries and kindergarten. Speech codes with draconian consequences for saying unapproved things. Routine radical discrimination against certain groups. Let unions run amok. Bend over for China. Bend over for Iran. Defund cops so crooks can stop looking over their shoulders. No more bail: Free every rapist, killer, mugger, wife beater, immediately, so they can deal with the snitches that landed them in jail in the first place. Open borders: let them all in! Free school. Free college. Free healthcare. Free housing. Free phones. Free food. FREE!

12:20 was referring to the agenda that matches the times.
— Higher taxes means paying off the existential crisis that we are in the middle of because government cannot declare BK like that Trump Taj Mahal did.
— Unreliable energy: damn the sun and wind for being inconsistent.
— Had not heard Trump do anything to prevent all citizens from being in libraries or kindergartens but carry on.
— Speech codes? On the same day that Trump asked the Supreme Court to allow government officials to block free speech. Irony.
— "Radical discrimination" in the same post with "running Trannies out of the libraries". Irony 2.
–Unions lost a great deal of power and have not run amok in decades. Warn us against the Wobblies next.
— China, North Korea, Russia, Mexico, the entire EU. We are the Mike Tyson laughingstock of international relations right now. We used to be tough but embarrassingly trade on how paunchy has-beens we are.
— Crooks stopped looking over their shoulder when they had to be released because a government-facilitated pandemic tore through their facility. Innocent people are the ones looking over their shoulder. And in the same post discussion "routine discrimination". Irony 3.
–Bail free releases for violent criminals: Pretty sure that's not how it works. No actually positive that is not how it works. Elimination of debtors' prisons and feeding the prison-industrial complex is actually be a very fiscally conservative position.
–Free school: Once again an educated populace is a fiscally conservative idea which is where charter schools and vouchers getting funded arises. Forgiveness of student loans and free college are not on the radar of anyone except the extremes.

It's not about the level of adoration, clearly millions are not a fan. But the Hitler lash-out references show an emotional immaturity that is disturbing. Grow up, he is your president, unless you live in another country. If Biden wins, then I'll be unhappy for as long as he is president, but I won't whine and cry about it, denouncing his authority every chance I get. It would be a waste of time and energy on my part. Similarly, I'm not a fan of Sisolak, didn't vote for him, but I would never refer to him as Hitler. Make fun of his name, sure, but throw a homicidal maniac label on him, I don't think so.

Talk to the judge if you experience problems with their staff. It is not uncommon for one staff member to cover for another staff member to conceal complaints from the judge, thereby protecting themselves by keeping the judge ignorant of any problems the public may be encountering. If the judge doesn't know about the problem they can't try to fix it. If, however, the problem persists after the judge is aware of it (preferably with the judge getting feedback if their initial efforts fail to achieve needed changes), then the blame for the problem rests with the judge.

As a retired professional that worked in all levels of court las vegas family court judges " by keeping ignorant" .
Large percentage of family court judges are already ignorant there staff didnt facilitate there ignorance.
Pomrenze moss and hughes are not returning. Two are retiring (both attorneys/litigants are ecstatic) and the third hughes didnt quite make it out of the primaries.
God help us if moss and pomrenze vie for a senior judge position.
There are reasons why they are retiring but if they ran for re election and lost they would not be eligible to request a senior judge position.
The reality of the situation was both pomrenze and moss would not be re elected in 2020.
Corruption, collusion by moss and pomrenze throughout the years.
Pomrenze was a true racist in her courtroom against inter racial couples. Ironic out of 48 cases involving inter racial couples that was reviewed, a hundred per cent went against African Americans. 48 out of 48.
How is that possible ?
