Judge Scann was a good judge and always a consummate professional. I wish we had more judges like her. She will be missed.

Great judge who personified respect for the profession. She always treated counsel with respect, even when she found against you.

She is a great judge, sorry, I cannot refer to her in the past tense. Nice lady, too. There is no one on the bench like her. I wish more people would come forward with her intellect and demeanor to run for judge.

Judge Scann was a very nice person. To the extent that I had issues with her department and manner of handling cases, today is not the day for such comments. Our condolences to her family and friends.

Super sad. I had my first 10 court appearances in front of her, and her friendly demeanor really helped with my newbie nerves. She was always prepared and was an all around good person.

I may not have agreed with her rulings, but I never felt like she didn't listen or that her reasoning was dishonest. RIP great lady.
I'm not a Republican, but I imagine some of the people who comment here are. I'm genuinely interested in how McDonald became the head of the state party. Did no one else run? Are his past problems just no longer an issue for the R's? Did people just forget or they don't care?
Was it his 250 IQ that caused him to identify Las Vegas as the capital of Nevada?

Anybody notice the settlement Dennis Prince obtained from the Defense just prior to the case going to the jury last Thursday afternoon in Kishner's courtroom , reference A-12-667-684-C "Fernandez vs. Satis & Fy West LLC." orig. vs. Aria Resorts?
I was following the case on cvn.com and watching Dennis completely throttle Kumen throughout in every phase!
Now I definitely have to get an "executive backpack" for all my RJC appearances!
Is Eglet & Prince really that good or is the Insurance Defense Bar in Vegas really that weak?
Or is ID counsel just milking every billable hour until conceding defeat when up against E&P? Kumen knew he was losing bad , body language, vocal tone in objections to cross of defense experts etc…
Insider tells me $4 mil – half lump for attorneys fees no doubt! and half structured!
FYI …I'm ID counsel in AZ with pending NV 8th Dist. post discovery/post plaintiff's OOJ PI defense vs. Dennis and his team @ E&P . Just trying to get a feel for what I'm really up against in Vegas.
In my limited experience around the Eglet camp…I can tell you this. They don't take the fight if they don't think they can kick the living crap out of you doing it. And the OOJ most of the time is a set up, because they know they can beat it. I would advice your client to settle. E&P know their way around the court all too well, and if youre an out of stater you are gonna end up going back home with your tail between your legs and possibly a lost client who will be paying up the ass for being so "resolute"
Second what 4:20 states, team Eglet Prince is as reputed to be. I defended a negligence per se case with very little motion success, billed the client an appropriate number of hours and then strongly pursued settlement . Wound up settling at a considerable premium over JVR comps prior to settlement conference. Overall, not a bad firm to litigate with concerning scheduling but, Tracy handles all pretrial negotiations and is definitely "proud" of her firm's prior trial results and is reflective of such in settlement discussions. Dennis has always been a superior attorney and litigator whether for defense or plaintiff. Unless you really feel you can get a defense verdict (highly improbable!) or a directed verdict, make your billables within reason and settle or that big jury verdict will definitely be publicized. Although, I practice defense I'd refer any of my family or friends with any real substantial injury claim to Eglet without hesitation. Good Luck…you're gonna need it!
Agree with 4:20 the OOJ is a setup! Eglet's are the definition of Great White Sharks! That fucking french palace on 7th didn't just appear on it's own or build itself! Have you been to that mf'er for depo's yet as you state your case is post discovery? Did you notice the ex-FBI security agent behind the glass in their building surveillance office as you walk in? How about you forget all the litigation bs and just use some common sense ,take a look around and answer your own questions! You would be right to tell your client to get his or her checkbook and get this thing over with before the end of the fiscal year. We all deal with unreasonable, "resolute" and arrogant angry defense client's and none of them are worth risking reputation or a panel designation! Get your "bigboy" or "big girl" pants on inform your client that this is not one that they can bully and then write the check!
Eglet is an exceptional trial attorney, no question; but there's more to it than that. Ever hear of an attorney who walks around a courtroom like he owns it? Well, Eglet does own it. The judges in Vegas bend over backward to please him. And please him they must.

Very sad to hear about Judge Scann. I remember having a rather contentious case before her and she was extremely friendly and courteous but also very no-nonsense when she needed to be. Even when she ruled against me at times it seemed like she would have a smile and a humorous remark "telling it like it is". I enjoyed her candor and demeanor and will miss her greatly.

PHoto of Shark Pimp and our fine AG Laxalt in Cleveland. How about some updates from convention floor Jordan? https://twitter.com/CSStevensphoto/status/755110035848437760

Does McDonald still work for the pimp in his alleged Las Vegas office? What an embarrassment for Republicans.
Does McDonald still live in Cusamano's house?
Michael McDonald has a political IQ of around 250. He wins because his opponents, including Governor Sandoval, continually underestimate him.
Was it his 250 IQ that caused him to identify Las Vegas as the capital of Nevada?

Client is resolute and unrealistic as usual.

Who's your judge, 3:50? That's all that matters.
Did not take long for Kishner to get in line.
@8:55, 3:50 here …Dept. 9 – Togliatti for what it's worth, told a pretty straight line firm on issues judge.
