There is absolutely zero chance that Floyd will exit prison alive. Whether he dies of old age or execution is up for debate but he will never be released. Hyperbole.
11:20–Yes, he will never be released, nor will he ever be executed. Therefore, the continued reports over the last few years that his execution can proceed is the ultimate in non-news.

Working from home anywhere from 2-4 days per week, and don't see that changing anytime soon, if ever.
same here, my only ccncern is that we let paralegals and associates work from home too and they're becoming increasingly difficult to get a hold of when you need something. I fear that might lead to some mandatory office time again.
I work from home more days than not (office size is 20+ attorneys and total headcount is 35+), probably about 1 – 2 days per week in the office. Most attorneys are in most days (I'm in the minority). I don't see me getting into the office more than 3 days per week tops. Culture, etc. absolutely needs in-office time (I just get pretty bogged down from early in the morning all day – getting into the office takes planning and additional time that I just don't always have).
OP from yesterday where I had a nice conversation with 10:47 – I had a life-changing thought for me (I'm 32) and realize it's not original but for me it is powerful – not to be maudlin or too sappy but after chatting with 10:47 I realized that the politicians are trying to divide it, I'm a conservative but probably have much more in common with liberals than the media, etc. tries to allow, I'm just trying to raise my small children, I don't hate pro-choice, or gays, or gun control advocates, I disagree with some policies on paper but I'm just like you, just trying to live, I don't want to sound like a drunk guy all huggy and stuff, but I'm tired of people trying to divide me and my liberal brothers, just a random thought on election day, don't let them divide us, and I don't believe that if you met me you would hate me either
Divide and conquer has been the way of rulers since time immemorial. The scariest thing for the ruling oligarchy is that people will throw off their conditioning and start finding common ground with those in other factions.
I don't hate those who I disagree with. I merely try my best not to associate myself with those who have objectionable morals, which my moral code is defined only by me. So naturally I find that I gravitate to those who share my same morals, which is most often my own political party.
12:15 – this is actually a great point that is worth exploring. I think we all do that now. For instance, I know of certain firms/partners that routinely check voter registrations before hiring someone, because they want to have like-minded individuals around and want to associate only with those of the same political beliefs. Is this a net benefit or a deficit? Do you think these practices should be encouraged or discouraged? After all, if you are convinced that a political party consists of mostly amoral (or objectionable morals) individuals, why would you ever want them around you, your family, children or work? Really, no reason to have diversity of opinions if you think that good people cannot disagree about key issues and remain good and moral people right?
Unfortunately, my experience doesn't make it seem that this cuts both ways. There are many leftists who have visible vitriol and contempt for conservatives. Hopefully, I'm wrong.
Well heyyy 1047 here, this all seems nice too. I give you two thoughts, first Jim Jordan and over a hundred other elected officals voted to invalidate lawful election results basically because "trump said so." If that's not scary to every American I don't know what else would be. The risk it happens remains and either party could ruin democracy by doing it. #2 democrats could win a lot of elections if they disavowed the "woke twitter" crowd I will continue to hold my breath that it might happen.
12:28, 12:15 here. Respectfully, I find it abhorrent that a firm would review someone's political position during the hiring process. Shouldn't a hire be based on qualifications? I say, yes. I work with others who I personally am not friends with outside of work. But that doesn't mean I don't get along with them or cannot have good working relationship with. What's worrisome that you highlight is the differentiation between professional and personal relationships.
12:15/12:55 – but you said people from certain political parties are amoral. Why would employers want to hire amoral people, regardless of whether they are good lawyers? I personally would not want to work with amoral people.
12:15 here again. I could care less what morals my coworkers have outside of the office. I care whether they can do the job and whether I can get along with them on a professional level. I'd be disgusted if I learned my firm was hiring only attorneys of 1 political party as a deciding factor.
I think we as a nation should come up with a motto or mantra or something to remind ourselves constantly that divisive forces (both from within and without) are a constant threat to all of our freedom and prosperity. While we can (and I think should) disagree, we must stay true to the rule of law.
There are probably better ideas, but just spitballing: maybe it could be something like "United we stand, divided we fall."

Bleeding heart liberal here. We have way more in common than we don't. And that doesn't mean that we can't just all get along and have a difference of policy or opinion.
The real divide isn't left/right, it's ultrawealthy/everyone else.
12:28. In going out on a hunch here to guess that I would have little to nothing in common with you, though it would depend on whether you are a true liberal versus a liberal meaning a car leftist. If the latter, we likely have very little in common.
12:31 and 12:58, it is beyond unacceptable to place your faith or religious morals on others. "Godly" vs. "ungodly" is unbearably self-righteous, and reminds me of criminal defendants who attempt to make legal arguments pursuant to Bible scriptures. It's absurd when they do it, and it's just as absurd in the context of your argument.
Lots of data showing that atheists are among the most ethical people and christians among the least. I would imagine that believing that you'll be forgiven by your god(s) for whatever scumbaggery you get up to. Religion, a way to keep the poor from killing the rich. Dems v. GOP has become religion.
Your "data" is nothing of the sort and I want to see it.
However, I can and do accept that there are a substantial number of ethical athiests and some damn scummy people that call themselves christians. DEMS v. GOP and the religious fervor with which it is argued is a facade created by the establishment and perpetuated by the main stream media in order to divide us, control us and distract us from what they are actually doing.
I heard a rumor that the State Bar recently filed a petition to suspend attorney Doug Crawford. Does anyone have more details or can someone confirm this? I know when the news of this story became known there has not been an update.
C'mon guys. There is no preferential treatment. Discipline cases that originate at the Supreme Court level for summary suspension are confidential until the Court makes a decision. SCR 102(4). This is the way these are handled. There is nothing preferential or nefarious here.

I come on here on a daily basis, and I cannot believe the insanity I read on here about judges and attorneys. The last 2 days are quite eye opening.
I did not vote for Lombardo, but I did vote in the Republican primary. What do you mean by the statement Lombardo "covered up the Route 91 shooting"? I genuinely don't have any idea what that means.
Looks like Fumo is going to lose. What office will he run for next? Why do I get the feeling he'll be one of those people who just keep running for seats until he wins something? And, Scotti had a (predictably) poor showing too.
Fumo actually has a platform that he is running on as opposed to just wanting an elective office for elective office sake (he had an elective office). Scotti's showing was seriously putrid…. as in he finished behind political nobodies who ran no campaign. The only person with a more putrid showing was Heller.

Looks like Judge Chris Lee pulled an Erika Ballou by winning an election without campaigning or raising money for NLV Municipal Court. He has to feel pretty good about it as he lost his last election during the female wave in 2020.
Good, Boulware will free another murderer. Rudin and Floyd.
There is absolutely zero chance that Floyd will exit prison alive. Whether he dies of old age or execution is up for debate but he will never be released. Hyperbole.

I only WFH for 2 days in 2020 at beginning of pandemic.
My office is very flexible, so WFH is always available. Many staff and attorneys WFH at least part of a day every week.
I work from home more days than not (office size is 20+ attorneys and total headcount is 35+), probably about 1 – 2 days per week in the office. Most attorneys are in most days (I'm in the minority). I have never WFH a single day since the pandemic. If its a work day, I am in the office or at depositions.
Congratulations, 3:34 PM.
Working from home 90%+ and loving this new lifestyle. Absolutely loving it.
Amen 5:17 pm – preach it! Tell the story!!

I love you MAAAAN!!
Make no mistake. The leftist death cult hates you. The elites hate you and yes, the politicians hate you.
Why? Because you think and because you don't hate.
Divide and conquer has been the way of rulers since time immemorial. The scariest thing for the ruling oligarchy is that people will throw off their conditioning and start finding common ground with those in other factions.

More likely the godly v. the godless
Bingo, 12:31. It's really the heart of the destruction of this country, IMO.
12:28. In going out on a hunch here to guess that I would have little to nothing in common with you, though it would depend on whether you are a true liberal versus a liberal meaning a car leftist. If the latter, we likely have very little in common.

1231 here. Hate to say it, but your perception of what I said is way off.
Read it again.
Godly v. godless is an objective standard and states a simple fact. One is either one or the other and it does not necessarily imply good or bad.
Lots of data showing that atheists are among the most ethical people and christians among the least. I would imagine that believing that you'll be forgiven by your god(s) for whatever scumbaggery you get up to. Religion, a way to keep the poor from killing the rich. Dems v. GOP has become religion.

Please enlighten me how "godly v. godless" is an objective standard.
@1231/239 here again.
One who believes in god and one who does not. Fairly simple if you ask me.
Personally, I don't believe in any of the currently-fashionable gods.
God doesn't require you to believe in Him.
Where do we find the election results for justice court?
https://www.reviewjournal.com/election-results-2022/
I heard a rumor that the State Bar recently filed a petition to suspend attorney Doug Crawford. Does anyone have more details or can someone confirm this? I know when the news of this story became known there has not been an update.
It's Supreme Court Case No. 84860 marked confidential and sealed.
I just ran a search on the Nevada Supreme Court site. It appears a petition was filed today.
84860
(Confidential) IN RE: DISCIPLINE OF DOUGLAS C. CRAWFORD 06/14/2022 Bar Matter Discipline Petition Petition Filed Supreme Court
Wtf,why is this sealed?

Lombardo wins
https://www.reviewjournal.com/news/politics-and-government/nevada/lombardo-wins-governor-primary-2592628/
The guy who covered up the Route 91 shooting vs. the guy who shut down the state and bankrupted small businesses.
Both on orders from above.
Some choice.
Who ya got?
I did not vote for Lombardo, but I did vote in the Republican primary. What do you mean by the statement Lombardo "covered up the Route 91 shooting"? I genuinely don't have any idea what that means.
Not 432am here. But they are correct.
Do some research. Its out there for the finding. Advice. Don't use google as your search engine.
Joey Gilbert was my choice.
Anyone know the status of the case filed by Michelle Flores against the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District for having her arrested for openly carrying in the Rainbow Library? http://www.nevadacarry.org/uploads/5/4/2/6/54262223/flores_lvccld_complaint.pdf
The same case that resolved in 2018?

He's a good guy. Good for him.
I like Chris Lee. I like Deena Rinetti, did she win?
