But that sweet non-equity partner track is so appealing!

Erin Lee Truman has been appointed discovery commissioner at EJDC. This is in addition to being ADR commissioner. Also, the discovery office is moving to the 10th floor of the Phoenix building, but hearings will still be heard in the RJC 5th floor discovery hearing room.

People used to complain endlessly, and quite aggressively, abut the prior Discovery Commissioner. So, I hope they give this one a chance. She had served as Family Court Discovery Commissioner, and seemed level-headed and fair, so I think she may do fine. Time will tell.

In my hearings with Truman so far she has been fair and reasonable. So far so good in my opinion.

Who is the White House vetting for federal judge to replace Mahan? Is it down to just one, or are the original 3 still in the running.

The Office of the Secretary of State just informed us that paying an extra $75.00 for 24 hour expedited service means we might (emphasis was on might) get a notary appointment in 7 days. So, 24 hours means maybe 7 days. Incompetence at its finest.

We contacted them yesterday for a change of email address on our account and were told the NVSOS is currently running 7-8 weeks to process a change of address.

What the f— is going on over there? This is outrageous. What was wrong with the old system that required an "upgrade"?

I created an LLC about 10 days ago. Everything went through successfully and they charged me for creating the entity. Problem is, because their system is messed up, no actual DOCUMENTS were created despite the entity being registered properly. So I now have an active LLC without any actual Articles of Organization or Initial List of Members/Managers. I have called numerous times and sent over 10 emails in an attempt to get my documents. They basically tell me they don't know what to do.

I need to open up a bank account and NEED the Articles of Organization to do so. This has left me in a very precarious spot. I need to deposit a check into a bank account I can't get opened because the Secretary of State has decided to take my $475 without giving me the docs I need to do so. VERY frustrating and no over there has been able to help.

This fucked status of SOS is brought to you by the only self proclaimed business law attorney in town, Gina Bomgiovi. Thanks for posting this for the 5th time.

Does being a lawyer ever get better? I've been practicing 4 years.

I think I've gotten better at coping but it almost hurts more. Which is not the answer you want. All I can sugar is to make sure you foster friendships and hobbies that have nothing to do with law to help you not feel like the world is just willing and stress all the time.

Here's advice. Don't be friends with lawyers. Just blown off by a long time friend. Stranger lawyers have been nicer to me than friend lawyers.

One of the great surprises when practicing law is that if a catastrophe hits, your "closest friends" will keep their distance but mere acquaintances will step up and offer assistance.

Nothing says asshole like blowing off a long time friend. Especially in this stressful profession.

Wow. That is just insane. Who does that under any circumstances? I am a pig and would never do that to a colleague.
