Thank him and open later. He already knows how much is in there. You can use the 1-1 as an opportunity to let him know how much you enjoy working there and ask what you can do to improve in the next year.
You already have some idea how much it is and your boss knows that you know. The proper etiquette is to discretely put the envelope out of view and offer a confident but humble expression of gratitude.

I would thank your boss and be sincere. Then ask him/her if he/she would like you to open it then. Wait for response and decide then.
Gees. Your ignorance is showing. You didn't include they/them.

I was initially excited about the super bowl being here, but then I thought about the parking. How is that going to work. Also, about the airport being named after Harry Reid. He is someone that I have no respect for and think he is just a bad dude all around. But he is a Nevada icon and at least half of Nevadans like him, so I have no problem with the airport being named after him. That is just the Nevada thing to do, to name buildings, schools after people, which I think is dumb. A better name would have been Las Vegas International Airport. But again, it is the Nevada thing.
Maybe…just maybe, we dislike Mr. Reid because he is, undoubtedly, one of the most corrupt politicians (and thats saying something). Recall, that he entered office as a public servant having nothing to his name. He retired a multi millionaire on the government dime and corrupt back dealings. He was corrupt, they even made him into a character in the movie Casino. It doesnt have anything to do with what side he was on. Plenty of corrupt republicans around too – but as a public servant, he was exceedingly shady and corrupt. And I am a democrat, so it has nothing to do with "playing for the other team." (Also turns out the jury in the "exercise band" case also didnt like him and I doubt they were all republicans hahaha
Senator Reid grew up poor, yes, but he was a successful Las Vegas trial lawyer before he went to Congress in 1983 at age 43. He was a partner at Beckley Singleton before starting Reid & Alverson, which became the Alverson Taylor firm. He owned a big nice custom house on Lacy Lane near where I grew up. If he had a couple 100K saved from his 20 years of private practice, his interest on investments would easily make him a multi-millionaire after 30 plus years. I guess that 401K's are evil now.
Beat me to is 1:18. 12:59's post is pretty unfair. I'm no Reid disciple, but when a dude works for 15-20 years in private practice then has a long career as a Senator it's not exactly shocking when they have money at the end. I may well have been corrupt, but I'm not making the leap that he must have been corrupt just because he was a multi-millionaire at the end of his long career. I'd be more surprised if he wasn't.
@1:18 Boo!
Don't make excuses for Reid. He may have started out as an honest lawyer turned politician. But he got sucked into the muck during the Harry Clayborne era and traded favors and his soul ever since (all of which is my opinion).
The naming of the airport is a purely political payback thing headed by players like Tick Segerblom. In 20 years some of Reid's dirt will surface and we will be renaming the airport again.
Is the Affirmation of Attendance with Mandatory CLE on the SBN website broken or is it just me? I got my postcard. the site says "To affirm your compliance with MCLE requirements please initial below and submit", but there is not place to place initials, and not button to "submit". Are we supposed to print it, then scan and send it in like Neanderthals?
Help – My first bonus is coming – boss calling us in one by one – do I open check in front of him or thank him and open later? Thanks!!
Thank him and open later. He already knows how much is in there. You can use the 1-1 as an opportunity to let him know how much you enjoy working there and ask what you can do to improve in the next year.
This is 1000 percent correct. No need to let him/her see your reaction to the Jelly of the Month Club.

99% of people who think Harry Reid is a "bad dude" hold that opinion because he played for the other team and scored a lot of points.
McCarran was legitimately a bad dude so I'm glad we're naming the airport something – anything – else.

*He may well…
Freudian slip I suppose.
Harry Reid is evil. He is a bigot. Made racist comments about African Americans and Asians. He makes me want to vomit.
4:32 wins most nuanced legal analysis of the day. Who's the big winner? 4:32's the big winner!
Who defends mob Harry Reid? Jacky Rosen? Elissa Cadish?

What is Harry Reid's mob mame? Baby face?
@6:21 – Cyclops. Too soon?
@6:21 CleanFace

I had to call the State Bar and they fixed it.
You do it on the CLE website at nvcleboard.org. Once you log in go to the bottom of the page and type your initials and hit submit.
